It's the simplest thing in the world to predict a system crash.
Just plug an accurate freqency meter into your wall at home - a Fluke 87 or similar. When the grid frequency is dragged down near 59.2 Hz, it's all over.

I don't have a frequency meter or I would put one on a data logger.
Can a FUBAR propagate faster than they can react? Where would you draw the line?
