Assembly Democrats and Republicans held dueling press conferences about the budget Monday, but the Assembly as a whole did not take up the spending plan.

Democrats said that budget cuts proposed by Republicans to avoid tax increases don't add up, either violating laws or causing "inhumane" reductions in service to vulnerable people.

The Rats will sooner see California sink into the Pacific than hold their noses to vote for a constitutional amendment to limit government spending another notch.

Let's see, state funding starts running out on July 15, and finishes running out on July 31. With no budget before then, they either have to challenge the court ruling against paying employees minimum wage or cave to the Pubbies, and all this is going on as Davis is embroiled in scandals and the California temperatures are straining the electricity grid again.

It must be rough to be a Democrat...

If any of the 4 RINOs assemblymen who joined the Democrats last year are in your district call them and remind them about their political future if they turn again this year.

In our area Mike Briggs is feeling the heat and so far has held.

Last year Briggs turned and excused his behavior by saying that he knew someone would turn and he figured he might get as much for his district as possible since the cause was already lost.

Couple of thoughts here. The Repubs must be feeling stronger with Simon being top in the polls, so they're not compromising (good!). Then the usual bs from Democrats (schools-waaaah!, welfare moms-waaaah, illegal immigrants-waaaah!). Please dear God, let the Repubs keep holding onto their dignity here and NOT give in to more taxes by the limo libs!

The other thing that I know about school districts...I know of many many schools that hired TONS of people and spend money LIKE WATER...yet the kids are dumb as can be.

And, in San Francisco, they still spend ton$ on BILINGUAL EDUCATION...which they are not supposed to, but do.

DEFUND THE LEFT. Defund the socialism/homosexual agenda the schools promote!

Campbell, the ranking Republican on budget matters, said the GOP has not changed the position it staked out two months ago: no suspension of the schools funding guarantee, no new taxes, and approval of a constitutional amendment to limit growth in state spending with a formula tied to personal income.

How about a constitutional amendment requiring state spending to track personal incomes. If personal incomes drop, so does state spending.

I believe that's just what the constitutional amendment the GOP is backing would do. There's also a scant chance the Rats will vote for it. Maybe the heat will get to them. What do I know! ;-)

California, for instance, is one of only two states that pay for a number of optional benefits for Medi-Cal recipients, who get medical care that he said was superior to what many in the private sector get."

This is the absolute TRUTH!!! Plus, I cannot find a DENTAL plan as good as they get free in the private sector insurance marketplace anywhere, for anyone AT ANY PRICE!!!

It's obscene, I tell ya and the illegals jump right into the dentist chair before the the sun sets on their first day in the U.S.A.!!!

It's no wonder they vote Demonicrat in blind devotion to their new masters/benefactors and everybody knows it!!!
