Only in a totally goofy and out-of-touch with reality state like California, could a Socialist politician be given more than $50 million for an election campaign.
The thing I am not sure about is what did he have to promise or threaten people with to get this kind of money.

Somewhere along the way, GraYouT has lost his way and has become a common nuisance .. He will be gone eventually..Preferably Sooner Rather Then Later
He looks pathetic ... lying ... yet people continue to support him, much as ClinTon was supported as he sold the country's secrets and decimated the military.
He has done as much damage to California as ClinTon and his legacy of lies has left us EnRon, etc.
DUMP DAVI$ & the Den of Socialists

They are scared..
They are real scared of us getting a solid foothold in cali.
A sharp governor who could make the power grid work and bring some fiscal disipline to California would make them look like utter fools.

I am making a prediction here and now.
In Illinois, Gov. Jim Edgar retired a few years ago and the law allowed him to keep his "campaign war chest" (to the tune of $3 MIL) as long as he declared it as income and paid taxes on it.
I do not know if this is legal in CA, but if it is, I predict Davis will wait until the last minute to do the same, knowing he can't win this election. He'll take the money and run. If he doesn't, he's a fool.
