The expression "given enough rope" may be altered to read "Give him enough nails"

I think this is the final nail in Governor Davis political coffin and he drove it in himself.

Bye-bye gray out..

Soft coal? Aren't there a lot of coal reserves under Indian lands or somewhere in the west? We could trade 'em casino chips for coal.

Agreed, Lets hope this nails GraYouT! We'd still have to watch months of thrashing around by a guy who has all the color of a corpse... But We've weathered worse the last few years in politics.

I heard him compared to a mix of Nixon and Clinton by Rush's fill-in today. GraYouT has combined the worst parts of both. No friends, No future in Politics. Karma IS a bitch for Davi$.

He's got a record breaking warchest though and he can lie with the best of them..

But, if he wins it certainly won't be on his record.. It's gonna be smear all the way.

Personally, I think he's sunk, but I don't live in cali, I seperate words from deeds and I am truly objective.

You can't argue with a sheeple approval rating of 81 percent. People think its going to reduce global warming. Wow that will get them every time. They'll realize too late their SUV's are going to be taken away from them. With all due respect, Gov. GrayDown is far from being a political idiot and will be able to pose as the California populist against the Big Three in smoggy Detroit. I can just see his reelection slogan:

I stood up against the big polluters! Where's Bill Simon? He looks MIA.

I have news for you my friends but not even Simon's gonna argue with 81 percent of the California sheeple. Strike One for California socialism.

The "greenhouse gas" bill before Davis targets carbon dioxide, methane and other auto emissions that are not hazardous to breathe but are believed by most scientists to trap the Earth's heat, like the glass panels of a greenhouse.

That's the first time I have heard that breathing methane was not hazardous; I guess all those old movies on T.V. where the gal sticks her head in the oven were just fantasy.

Californian emissions bill - a new global warming fight

Two excerpts:

"California officials concede that even if the state is successful in legislating a reduction in vehicular greenhouse gas emissions, that alone will do little to stop the overall rise in world temperatures.

While the United States contributes roughly 25 percent of the global greenhouse gasses, California - long a national leader in tough air pollution regulations - is not among the top offenders."

and

"We have reasons to believe that some of the northeastern states are looking very closely at what's going on here," said Jim Boyd, a member of the California Energy Commission.

Shosteck of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers said opponents of the measure were mulling their options, including an effort to put a referendum on the bill on the November state ballot and a possible legal challenge to California's right to override federal fuel efficiency standards.

"This bill is all pocketbook pain and no environmental gain," Shosteck said. "The Air Resources Board wants everyone driving around in golf carts."
