They said the sky was falling about unleaded gasoline," Davis said. "They said it about the catalytic converter. They even said it about seatbelts and air bags. But friends, the sky is not falling. It's just getting a lot cleaner."

This is a very unique quote from the great one grayout davis, I heard the same quote from a member of the sierra club yesterday about this same bill. I wonder if Davis is taking orders from the Green Machine, looks like it to me!

Davis=Big Woss who can't thank for himself.

In related news, Davis spokesman Gary South said Davis plans to pursue a bill to reduce the activity of breathing by Californians to further reduce CO2 emissions. "Californians are just breathing too much, and we hope to reduce CO2 by requiring all those who live in California to take shorter breaths, thus exhaling less polluting CO2 into our atmosphere.” South said Davis had no comment on how Sacramento legislators plan to reduce the large cloud of hot air emitted daily from the Capital building. However he suggested that anyone with a plan could submit it to the Governor, along with a large donation to expedite review of their plan buy Davis.

he signed AB 1493 on a hot, smoggy day along a trail in Griffith Park flanked by pine trees.
Total lie.
I'm 10 minutes away.
It's currently 77 in Griffith Park (and he signed the bill earlier in the day when it was even cooler) also it is definitely not a smoggy day -- in fact the sky is blue and the visibility is very good.
I guess the facts wouldn't help Davis so they figured they'd just make them up in order to "help" the readers throw their support behind Davis and this legislation.

I'm on the look out for the petition to sign to repeal this law. I'm sure some good Freeper will post it as soon as it is available.

The measure "will ultimately have a huge impact on the health of our world" and might even help the U.S. war on terrorism by creating higher-mileage cars and reducing dependence on foreign oil, Reiner said.

Once a meathead, always a meathead. Never a leader. Mr. Reiner could, of course, permanantly reduce his personal consumption of the earth's resources to, say, the level of one Ethiopean to show everyone how committed he is to this issue. eliminate air conditioning at his residences and offices. Biking to and from appointments. Go for it, Rob.

I have the perfect solution for CA, and it should make everyone happy without imposing any new requirements on the rest of the country.

Let the car manufacturers build a machine that meets their new, improved standards and make that model available to them. It will, aside from keeping the air cleaner, go from 0 to 60 in 27.8 seconds, seat 3 semi-comfortably, and cost $40,000 (before options).

Does anybody know if there are any auto factories still operating in California. If so, the Big 3 could close them down and move the production back to Michigan.
