The Davis campaign can't even get their statutes straight. It's the Political Reform Act of 1974.

That said, failure to disclose violates the spirit, but not the letter of the law. If the committee has genuinely been formed to neither support nor oppose a candidate, it is not covered by the law. Just the same, more disclosure is better.

81002. The people enact this title to accomplish the following purposes:
(a) Receipts and expenditures in election campaigns should be fully and truthfully disclosed in order that the voters may be fully informed and improper practices may be inhibited.

84200.5. In addition to the campaign statements required by Section 84200, elected officers, candidates, and committees shall file preelection statements as follows: (a) During an even-numbered year, all candidates for elective state office being voted upon in the statewide direct primary election or the statewide general election, their controlled committees, and committees primarily formed to support or oppose an elected state officer or a state candidate being voted upon, shall file the applicable preelection statements specified in Section 84200.7 or 84200.8. indefinitely.

Too bad Doofus didn't have his campaign funds in the stock market.

Just saw a clip from Channel 5 news in SF on a campaign stop by Simom in a low income area. The union goons were there chanting their mantra.

Now that's an outstandingly defiant group one can be proud of.

Isn't it absolutely funny to see the whiney socialist liberal pinko's have such astounding hissy fits?

Gray Davis is clinically insane. He and Condit are poster boys for everything wrong with California politics. Although New York is still worse for electing Hillary, California is filled with people who buy images, not substance.

FLASH!

Gray Davis Sues Poor Richard

We need to find out who's behind this so-called "Almanac", said the irate Governor of California in a news conference yesterday. "A penny saved is a penny earned my a$$", he went on to say. "Mr. Richard - or whoever he is - had better be saving those pennies for his court case."
