"People can criticize, but Davis has managed to do it without being rich and self-financing," Sragow said. "It is an extraordinary human feat. He's probably the only person in American politics who could do it."
Let's see your Daily Appointment Book, GraYouT and let us judge how much time you spent doing the business of the people of california and how much you did the personal business of raising campaign money. Or do you have something to hide, Guv :-?

Judo. Let Davis defeat himself with his own words.
If you want to deliver your message statewide, you'd better have a message worth delivering.
Who wants to vote for an incumbent governor whose proudest accomplishment is that he won a Bronze Star in Vietnam?
What have you done for us lately, Gray?

If Bill Simon followed the liberals' advice, he'd be accused of trying to be another rich fuddy dubby buying himself the governor's office. The liberals are now hammering him for not having enough money on hand to overwhelm GrayDown in the fall campaign? Gee what's a Republican candidate to do? Nothing he does gets a thumbs up from his critics. That being said GrayDown is still self-destructing and unless he can turn his negatives around by September (which is less than two months away) is destined to lose in November. Look for the liberals to be surprised by the nobody they never expected to win.

I've always wondered why the media doesn't (or perhaps I should not) connect the trash talkers like South and Car-vile with the people they support.
As spokesmen, they are literally speaking for their politician. And the politician should get the reaction from the greasy talk of the spokesmen.

"I'm just a poor working stiff living in a 1,000-square-foot condominium," said the Democratic governor, who lives in a West Hollywood condo when he's not in Sacramento. Is Grey Davis Gay?
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
