The political fog rising from Republican Bill Simon's peek-a-boo release of his tax returns last Monday has obscured a surprising campaign road trip.

For more than a week, Simon, the GOP candidate for governor, has been traveling to some of the poorest urban areas of the state and promising that his election will be good news for California's inner cities.

Besides being president of the Oakland NAACP chapter, Reeves also is secretary of the California Republican Party

That's one of the strangest things I've read in a long time. In Oakland of all places, how could the NAACP president not be a communist?

Shannon Reeves is a black conservative, in of all places, the backyard of the Bezerkeley Taliban. Simply amazing he's the head of the local NAACLP too. Makes you wonder why Kwaisi Mfume and Julian Bond haven't forced him out of the local chapter yet.

"This is the first time a Republican has come into our neighborhood wanting to understand our issues," Reeves said.

Kudos to Simon. If We are to save the Dream , We must save the economically challenged. Cutting capital gains tax rates in economically challenged neighborhoods makes good sense to me.

But knowing Davi$, He'd say No No No.. Let's just build prisons in the neighborhoods instead.
DUMP DAVI$ & the Den of Socialists

GO SIMON

go simon go!

But I honestly believe that George Bush will be disappointed if Simon wins. Why did the Bush people bad-mouth Simon, why have they opposed him? Why did the Wall Street Journal run an editorial that ridiculed Simon's chances for victory. These people are so out of touch.

On of those sentences was mis-emphasized.

On Friday, more than 20 demonstrators, most from local labor unions, waved signs and shouted "Pay your taxes" as Simon talked to reporters.

There.

"In Oakland of all places, how could the NAACP President not be a communist?" LOL. I've lived in Oakland for something like 23 years now (hoping to escape soon). Shannon Reeves is one of our very best people. Everyone here is not like Barbara Lee!!! I really admire and respect Shannon Reeves. Very smart young man. I wish that he would run against Barbara Lee and WIN!!!

With all due respect, you're the one who's out of touch. President Bush has already done three fundraisers for Bill Simon, and I don't know of any "Bush people" that have badmouthed Simon. Unless you count that Cali idiot Parsky, who should have been canned long ago IMHO. But he's not part of the administration. And since when did the Wall Street Journal follow orders from the Bush administration? You've been swallowing too much Dem Koolaid.
