The Bay Area results are a little misleading....it's not that so many people are undecided, it's just that they go both ways.

I wonder if this poll was before Gray decided to dump toxins in their water in exchange for a bribe?

Bay Area - Davis 53% , Simon 38%. 9% undecidedThis is the real news. If the "bay area" is defined as substantially San Francisco and Marin counties then this is very bad news for Davis since these two counties typically have voted near 80% for incumbent, Democratic, gubernatorial candidates.
Even if the "east bay" is included these numbers have got to be a monumental dissappointment for the Davis campaign.

Well ... with all the government workers complaining and the San Jose Mercury News front-paging a story about the payoff to Davis to allow a polluter to dump his toxic waste in the ocean - Simon could make up significant ground in the Bay Area.

GrayDown's leading in the Bay Area, but its not overwhelming. He should be polling better than 60% and its surprising Bill Simon is competitive in one of the most liberal areas in the state. 38% is high for a Republican candidate. To be sure GrayDown thinks he will win a double digit victory in November. Which only goes to show the denial of reality he's in, especially when you consider he gets barely over 50% in his strongest region, the Bay Area!
