"...this is territory taken from Mexico..."

Wrong. This guy probably went to a government school. As part of the treaty that ended the Mexican War, the United States PAID for the territiories it acquired. The US also assumed claims against Mexico by the Texicans. And later on, the Gadsen Purchase acquired the southern edges of Arizona and New Mexico. If they want it back, let them buy it back. A few ga-zillion dollars ought to cover it.

White liberals, for example, don't usually engage in home invasions, drive-by's, racially motivated terror rape and other forms of ethnic cleansing. Not even in California

You're right. However, white liberals have done the following:

Delivered practically all our nuclear secrets to hostile China.
Stripped our military of sorely needed funds
Gutted the missle defense funding at a time breakthroughs were occurring.
Turned down an offer from Sudan to get Osama's head on a silver platter
Stacked our judiciary with liberal judges who routinely let off free or very easy, the perpetrators of all the offenses you mentioned above.
Forced a society denigration policy of diversity and acceptance upon us and our schools
forced a radical environmental agenda on our national forest and land policies that have been a major factor in the total descruction by fire of over 8 million acres in the last two years.
Attempted and have been partially successful in taking away our Second Amendment rights that would allow us protection from the offenses you listed above.
Forced high taxes upon us to fund social giveaways designed to buy votes.

I could go on for another hour but I've got to work to pay my taxes.

Demographics in a population is indeed an important issue. Any student of Texas history knows that immigration by Anglos into Texas between 1821 and 1836 was an important factor in bringing about the Texas Revolution. However, there were quite a few Tejanos who joined with the Anglos in their desire to bring down Santa Ana who was seen as a tyrant and enemy of the 1824 Mexican constitution. Today, Hispanics living in Texas (at least the ones who have been here for generations) generally see themselves as Texans. There is sort of a Tex-Mex culture here which northerners probably find a little hard to understand. Things like music, food and leisure activities cross racial lines, and it is not really an us versus them situation. Hispanics occupy all walks of life, and are represented in every profession. It simply does not make any sense for any Texan to want to become part of Mexico, especially Hispanics who know more about Mexico than the rest of us.

Having said all of that, there is clearly a danger in rampant immigration from the South because we are talking about new people who have not been part of the Texas heritage, the U.S. heritage, or even the Tex-Mex heritage, all of which could be overwhelmed by sheer numbers in the future.

But Camejo's views on immigration certainly raise a few eyebrows. "We think that immigration is what made America great, especially the Mexicans,"

Oh, yes, the invasion of Mexicans is certainly what makes America great. Their impact on the crime rate, welfare and health care costs and the way their very presence revitalizes neighborhoods is just astounding. /sarcasm

Ahhh.. But you forget that in TEXAS 75%-78% of the Poulation is US-Born. In fact over 60% are +3rd Generation Americans. Compared to CALI most Hispanic Texans, are Proud Texans & Americans, they have the Highest Military Enrollement of any State.

When comparing Mexicans/Hispanics, Its important not to lump Immigrants and US-Born Hispanics, because they are Different, Economically, Socially and Culturally. Also Unlike California which is 55% Immigrant Hispanic (Almost entirely Mexican or Central-Am), the Majority of Texan Hispanics Speak English as their Primary/Only Language, also they come from a "DIFFERENT" part of Mexico and thus they are MUCH LESS Radical and much less of "Victims".

Thanks...

I would questions your figures and facts. If you are speaking of native-born Texans of Mexican decent, I might agree they speak English - but as their 'only' language, that has not been my experience with them.

I don't know about 60% being 3rd generation - if that is true today, it will not be in just a short time. Texas is being deluged by illegals. We have possibly not reached the level of California, but we are not far behind. You are correct in that there are many, many Americans-Texans of Mexican decent that have been our family, friends and neighbors, but they are growing old as many of us and how long before the new generation realizes, they can demand and get more and more. As Isaid, I question your figures, respectfully, but also your post made it sound as if Texas was not in a critical state - when it is. Our cities are broke and our state is in a very bad financial state. We have a high sales tax and extremely high property (school) tax. The reason for this, I believe, is caused by the influx of illegals draining the social services, law enforcement and schools. When you have that many people migrate who are unable, or unwilling, or just not required to pay for the services they receive, it has to cause problems. It is already and will be even more frightening in the future.

As I said, it may not be as critical as California, but it is not a rosy picture. It is certainly having a detrimental effect on cities and is changing the culture of even small towns.

and it's a damn good thing; otherwise, the pobrecitos would be crashing the fences to get from what is now Texas,

Imagine the hand-wringing from Fox and others if many Mexicans were drowning trying to make it across the mile-wide Mississippi. They should wish we'd take over the rest of Mexico too so they wouldn't have to die making it across deserts and the scrawny Rio Grande.

I wouldn't even compare them because they aren't the same people --at least not around here. For one around here it's a big mistake to refer to a SW Hispanic as a Mexican because Mexicans are citizens of a foreign country and you'd be corrected immediately. They used to let you get by with calling them Mexicans but with the current invasion of people from that country, most lately call themselves Spanish or Spanish-American Indian or Hispanic or New Mexican. Even those descended from people who left Mexico almost a century ago are quite a lot different than those who left yesterday.
