You guys can attack JoeFromCa all you want, but it's my opinion some of these charges leveled at Simon are very damaging.  Do I agree with the charges?  Not necessarily.  Do I want Davis to win?  No.  The fact is that most of the public aren't going to tune in to the meaty issues until after schools starts.  For now all they are going to do is form an initial opinion of Simon.  My take is that the court decision from last week is going to hurt him.  Hey, I'd like to be wrong.

"My take is that the court decision from last week is going to hurt him."

I think D1's right about that, but these next couple of weeks will also tell something about Simon and the Cal GOP in general. What I'm trying to say is that we knew that Davis would fight dirty going into it. There are always setbacks in a campaign, and the real test of a candidate's (and a campaign's) mettle is when the chips are down.

To use a sporting analogy, a great boxer will keep going, even after taking some hard shots, and more than one fight has changed direction after the third round. I've got to bet on this campaign -- think of the consequences of losing this election. Property rights? The last vestige is hanging by a thread already. Taxes? You KNOW where Davis will take that. More state funding for killing unborn babies, the final triumph of the "gay" agenda etc. etc. etc. Oh, and, please turn in those nasty guns while you're at it.

D1 is also right about something else. I don't see where JoeFromCA said he wanted Davis to win, or Simon to lose, either.

And my response to that is "So what?" Should everyone just adopt Joe's defeatism and give up? There's no evidence of a drop in support (via polls) yet, if any will even occur. President Bush hasn't pulled back from his scheduled fundraiser. So whatever damage last week may or may not have done, folks need to press forward and keep the faith. These emotional rollercoasters (I'm not referring to you here) are simply a waste of energy. They remind me vividly of all manic depression during the summer of 2000. Every good Bush poll or article evoked celebration and high fives, while a subsequent pro Gore poll/article brought out the naysayers and handwringers.

Stay the course. Grayout Davis is a seriously wounded incumbent.

"Hey, I'd like to be wrong."

We'll Give You a Chance at being wrong on this one :-) !

It would appear Simon has been inflicted with mortal wounds by the most recent happenings in a courtroom in SoCal. Im not so sure.

GraYouT does not exactly look like a the toughest guy in town either. He seems to be on edge of late. I wonder why? DioXin, MTBE,Oracle, to name a few are issues he will be asked about in debates in front of potential voters. How is GraYouT's espanol these days.

Simon doesn;t have much left to hide at this point .. Im not so sure about Davi$.

Although the issue can stick, the issue WON'T stick if you are really campaigning on fact. In all reality, the DNC has excellent psychological warfare tactics. This non-issue was MADE an issue by the propaganda popping out of the LA times and other newspapers. The TV, Radio, and Print media are teeing up balls for the governor to hit.

Small wonder.

When the top soft money donors to Gray Davis' campaign are media outfits, is there any question why their "employees" march to a liberal drum?
