We Republicans in CA were hoping that Davis, weakened by campaign financing, energy policy and other issues could be defeated. I'm afraid that last week's civil judgment against Simon's company for fraud puts those chances in peril.

I know, I know, Simon wasn't even named as a defendant and asserts that he did not make the investment decisions that led to the judgment, but in a heavy democrat state it was going to be a tough battle in any event. Now it may be an impossible battle, I'm sorry to say.

Is there a law in California that demands all conservatives quit before the fight starts? Davis has high unapproval numbers, don`t quit , the fights still on.

Joe, Are there any clean candidates left? Any that haven't had failings?

Somehow, though all the mud of the last week, I believe Simon is a good man. That's all that matters to me.

I only have to look at Davi$ and his accomplishments.. For shame.. He had it ALL and has frittered it away patronizing unions and special interests. I'm tired of "Bu$ine$$ as Usual" if that is what you what to call it.

I want better then that for this state. We the People deserve better and must demand it.

You wimp. You see one set of press releases and you crumple! What a lark. You're no conservative. You're a lib.

Gosh, I'm absolutely shocked to find negative tones and defeatism here on FR. Especially on a Simon thread. You must be truly lonely. < / sarcasm >

Just think if you had put the energy used into lamenting Simon's chances into writing him a check, or picking up the phone and volunteering for his campaign.

Naaaaaahhh, too much effort, right?

I'll take comfort from the fact that the guy who can't possibly beat Grayout Davis has led in nine of eleven polls. Yet "supporters" like you buy into the "objective" media's take on things.
