Heck. With all due respect to Jack Pitney, releasing info to the media vultures would just keeping feeding an endless stream of questions. Bill Simon should just ignore pointed questions about the verdict and press on despite the media, which was never all that friendly to him anyway. Ronald Reagan didn't care what the press thought of him and need should Simon.

Yet Simon has been unable to get the investment-fraud scandal behind him. His firm's lawyers have refused to release information about the company's financial dealings. And that has fed into the perception being peddled by Gov. Gray Davis' campaign that Simon is ``secretive.'' Pitney said Simon would do better to come clean. ``Every bit of information he can legally release, he should release,'' Pitney said. ``There may be some embarrassing details, but a complete release will rob Davis of an issue and give Simon a chance to regain the high ground.''

Simon is one of his own worst enemies. Doesn't his campaign have anyone on board who knows something about politics?

Don't get me wrong--I am not crediting these accusations against Simon-- but he and his staff have no clue about how to manage these kind of campaign tactics.

The drumbeat of "Simon Campaign In Trouble" articles are going continue as the press willingly aids Davis, the lead California Democrat, keep his office.

We all know that if the same level of scrutiny was applied to Davis' fraudulent reign as govenor, things would look far different. However, we can not count on that. All we can do is fight discouragement and wait for Simon to come out swinging as November approaches.

Unless it is proven that Simon has been directly involved in unethical business decisions or practices, I'm not shaken.

Keep up the fight to the end!
