"Sounds like this shouldn't be federal issue. If this program is so important to Californians, let them find the money elsewhere. Oh, I forgot. Gray Davis drove the state into debt."

Wrong. Anyone who supports the invasion of illegal aliens and hires them instead of American workers is to blame. The rest of us are stuck taking up the income slack and our %^^%&^ pols won't do a thing about it. Stop illegal immigration and throw out those already here. Period!

I see you live in Idaho. Well consider this. There are around 4 million to 5 million illegals in California. I wonder if they will stay here if they can't get free medical care any longer. I'll bet my state wouldn't mind buying them a one way to Idaho so that big mouths like you can extend your hospitality for a change.

I might be more sympatheic to California's problem regarding funding illegal aliens medical care - it is also affecting my state:

However-

When Davis and company fund in-state tuition for illegals I just have to shake my head.

Look, Davis is brain dead, just like very other liberal in this nation. They are just shy of controling the house. They already have the Senate. We're all affected by idiots like this. Let's hope they are set back this fall.

California isn't the only state that has or soon will extend resident status to it's illegal alien students. That doesn't absolve us for having an idiot like that for governor. I hate to say this, but he's tame by our state's house standards. The idiots over there make him look like a member of the KKK.

The only thing worse than California being such a fowl state, is the idea of California as a springboard for other states. If the illegal alien problem takes Ca, they aren't going to stop at the Oregon, Nevada or Arizona border. And once those states have to go because their state legislatures and governors have gone south, the illeglas won't stop at the New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, or Washington border. On it goes. We either take a stand or simply hand over the keys to the US Capital now and get it over with. It would happen this century anyway.

People need to get their heads out, quit blaming California and start demanding their federal reps get serious. Otherwise it's only a matter of time before some smartmouth in the states north and east of you are saying the same thing about your state that they are of mine.

For the last 15 years I've been trying to tell people what was going to happen. All I got were smartmouthed comments from blithering idiots. If they can't seen the handwriting now, they're deaf, dumb and blind. Either that or they are traitors from the word go, and think Mexico should take over.

That's right. Your mom paid her own way. That's something that folks who know nothing about this issue seem oblivious to. And long term Mexican national immigrants are sick of what's happening just as much as we are. Their tax dollars to pay for this. Does anyone think they like it? Sheesh!

"..quit blaiming California.."

I don't "blame" California. I "blame" the 60% brain dead idiots and the enabling press that put Davis and company in charge and do not hold them accountable for their bizzre and dangerous decisions.

You are right. California is historically a harbinger of the nation's future.

God help us all.

I "blame" the 60%

That would consist of the dead, illegals, pets, and guilty white liberals.

I posted too quick. Having said all that, I also believe that the Feds can actually do something good. If California has been too generous to freeloaders, they have a chance at this point to say "no - we are not going to fund your medical generousity without some hard decisions and, dare I say, cutbacks regarding the way you do business."

After all, California HAS been too generous to people demanding their rights".

This administration has thrown the glove down. If they give in without a serious commitment by the state to tighten down and back off on their dumbass socialist agenda, it will never stop.

Am I holding my breath?

No

Officials said the potential cuts would strike at the hospitals' ability to deliver services and could cause longer waits in emergency rooms.

Those waits are already as long as 18 hours in some emergency rooms in the Los Angeles area.

San Joaquin General Hospital administrator Steve Ebert estimated that the French Camp hospital stands to lose $2 million to $3 million. The actual amount would depend on how the state distributes the money that remains after any federal cut, he said.

Meanwhile, the State of California has embarked on a $3 million project to remove ice plant used to prevent erosion at Southern California beaches and replace it with native vegitation. The ice plant, not native to the area, has been a fixture of the slopes leading down to the beaches for the past 50 years.

I just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was trying to say you were blaming California. I meant that genericly. Take care.

"I'll bet my state wouldn't mind buying them a one way to Idaho so that big mouths like you can extend your hospitality for a change."

It's un-called for to call me a big mouth. The people in California voted for polititicians that insituted a "state" medical plan. Fine, that's your right. But don't expect everyone else in the country to pay for it.

It may interest you to know that your state still pays for indigent people who show up at your emergency rooms. It is a federal requirement. If your hospitals refused such service, they would be forbidden to handle Medicare patients. And that's the fastest way I know of to shut the doors of your own facility.

Call it Medi-Cal, call it state fund #702, call it anything you like, my state, your state and every other state pays for these people. If your state is still a part of the union, then it pays for this stuff. And yes, it gets partially reimbursed by the federal government just like every other state. If you wish to fixate on Medi-Cal, jump up and down, slander us for ever adopting such a stupid plan, and assure yourself that your state doesn't have to pay these same types of fees, go ahead. It won't be true, you'll be in denial, but you have every right to think whatever you want.

The difference is, as I understand it, Med-Cal covers elective procedures where other states cover emergencies...
