CNN has joined Twitter in calling for the dropping of certain terms associated with slavery or that “evoke racist notions about Black people.”
Some of these terms include “master bedrooms/bathrooms.” CNN argued while it remains “unclear whether the term is rooted in American slavery on plantations, it evokes that history.”
The term “master bedroom” was first used in 1926, over sixty years after slavery was abolished.
“Blacklist” and “whitelist” are also problematic, according to CNN and Twitter, because even though the terms “don’t appear to be directly connected to race, some argue that they reinforce notions that black=bad and white=good.”

I agree, this is step one toward Orwell’s Newspeak.

My divorce from CNN goes back to 2007 when Don Lemon appeared as a lead network broadcaster the day after Obama was elected President. It was immediately obvious what was happening: the veil was going to drop and CNN was going to fully transform itself into DNCNN. It was a tough job but they worked hard and managed to go beyond expectations and become the Fake News Network (FNN): the most unreliable name in news. Congratulations.
Never been on Twitter except to read postings listed in news articles.
Certainly don’t consider either one as authoritative - on anything.

I think they were desperate to cash in on the star wars mania and just took anything that came along. I did see it back then but have forgotten almost everything about it but the title.
We need to ban all these words and phrases:
Master Sergeant, master cylinder, Master Chief, Master-at-Arms, mastermind, masterstroke, masterpiece, schoolmaster, postmaster, headmaster, quartermaster, chess master, The Masters Tournament, Australian Masters, Master’s Cup, The Grandmaster, Masters of the Universe, Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science.
