Don't stop!

Help me out!

I've been away for a long time. My mother told me that Tony Pepper got cancer or diabetes (or both). I assume he's passed on. I grew up watching Tom Ellis...life was so much simpler when I wasn't aware of liberal media bias...

I just talked on the net with my friend in Melbourne, Australia. It's almost 6:00 AM Monday there so the game is already over. His morning newspaper just arrived. He looked in the sports section and said the Patriots win 32-13.

ROFL!

Could you get back in contact with him and ask him if Punxzutawney Phil saw his shadow?

It's only 6:00 AM in Melbourne,
Phil isn't scheduled to make his prediction until sunrise at 7:25.

Hey, what's the official time before a Super Bowl that you're allowed to start drinking beer, and not be called a lousy drunk? - answer - Mid-August.

LOL! Maybe we DO need a longer pre-season, eh?

I just got about 35 pounds of ice sickles off the back gutter of my house for the coolers. This is great. So much for global warming!

I'm gettin' psyched for this game. I look for a close, low scoring game. Prediction; Panthers beat the spread, maybe outrightly win the game, and UNDER for the over and under. This should be great. We have two great coaches.

I'm really interested in seeing if the Panthers can run decently against the Patriots. If they do so, look out, Pats.

But the Pats are great, and Brady is brilliant on 3rd down...very calm. This will be great.

Have another beer. Stay in touch.

Is there a live thread on the game yet, or is this it?

I've been saying it for awhile now, but until proven otherwise, don't ever, ever bet against The Kid, Brady. He just doesn't lose. Tonight it will be 15 straight, 20-7. I just think you'd be nuts to bet against Brady and Belichick at this point.

You just might be right, that is a great combination. But the Pats are due to be less "perfect" than they have been. And I think the Panthers will be somewhat successful running the ball.

IMO, it will be closer than you think.

BTW, I'm from Pittsburgh, and I know from a couple of years ago how smart Belichick is. He outsmarted us throughout the game, and he does it quite often. (But that was a forward lateral for you guys - read Boswell's story on it in the Washington Post) He's cool as the QB. But still, these Panthers are for real.

Catch your buddy right before the kickoff. That ought to be "late enough"! ;)

Did you know that Tom Ellis is back? He's doing news on NECN. Drives up from the Cape to do it. How the hell old is he? I worked with him at BZ in the early 70s and thought he was mid-40s then.

Prediction: this will be the greatest Super Bowl of all time! Why? Because I'm watching it this year on a 70" Sony HDTV - yeeeeeeehaaw!

Prediction, This will not be the greatest Super Bowl of all time, but I will enjoy it more than you, as I'm watching it on a 35" Proscan, that was paid for over 6 years ago. Oh, and we'll be watching it from the patio, with west coast temps at 72 degrees, a mild pacific breeze, and unlimited visibility. I've gotta go cut some roses for the table before the game, and clean the BBQ. Enjoy that Sony.

The Ghoul...wasn't he the one who hosted "Creature Double Feature" on channel 38 on Friday nights? Usually some Japanese B-grade movies like "Rodan vs Godzilla." I remember watching those movies as a 9 or 10-year-old kid. I thought those movies were great! Thinking of them now, MST3K would have had a great time with them.

I would suggest waiting for another couple of years. The next generation of technology will be OLED, or Organic Light Emitting Diode. These will have a number of advantages over current technology.

First, they allow for stacked pixels, meaning that every single pixel will be able to display a full spectrum of color. This will mean an instant 3x boost in resolution, not counting any other factors whatsoever.

Second, they have a full 180 degree range of visibility, which has been a problem with regular LCD displays, although they are getting better.

Third, they will use less power and run cooler then either LCD or plasma (especially plasma) technology.

So, if your current set is still functional, I would suggest waiting a couple of more years. OLED will be a major advancement in display technology, and will be well worth the wait. I'm holding on to my old 40" Mitsubishi tube TV until it either goes poof (8 years old and still works great) or it can be replaced with an OLED HDTV at a reasonable cost.

Tom Ellis...must be up there with Guy Lombardo now...remember all the liberal stuff? Jorge LaQuiroga, William Zia-san-who-hoe? I remember learning about Islam in the 6th grade. Gawd! No wonder I was a hypnotized liberal until I was 26!

You guys are all nuts. This game would be good on a 17 inch black and white, 1969 Zenith. As long as the beer is cold. ;)

The Ghoul did "The Ghoul Movie," which he punctuated with slapstick humor during the breaks. He may have done Creature Feature as well. All B-grade or less! I remember the movie "Them!" about giant ants or spiders or something.

That's what were going to get. Hopefully our Proscan will last another few years until OLED screens hit the market. I figure that'll be in about 3 years.....

Hey fans, just remember when you're throwing around that word "genius" about a player or a coach today ......

"The word 'genius' isn't applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein."

-- Joe Theisman, NFL football quarterback and sports analyst

hope it's as good on a Walkman.

I'm a little odd, but I can enjoy a game on a real crumby TV. And I can enjoy a great song ...... like 'The Summer Wind' by Sinatra ......... on a small $8.00 radio.

This should be a great game. I only wish it could be a little longer. Both these teams kill a lot of clock with their control offenses. And coaches tend to get a little more conservative in games such as this.

So the UNDER is almost a gimme, IMO! But you never know.

I'm psyched and the 'Stillers' aren't even playing. These two teams belong there.

Smarts on both sides!!

Not so fast. My closet wizard states Pats over Cats by 14.
And, if that's not enough, my extra-terrestrial enhanced windowed dial up Eight Ball says it's book is holding firm on a final score: Pats...42, Cats...28.

Mustang sends from "Malpaso News"...We got brew, cocktails, lobster, shrimp, crawfish, finger food and a bunch of young pretty's all are wives are staring down.

This should turn into a fun event. Update later. Go Pats!
