The Dollywood theme park has asked a gay and lesbian group to immediately stop advertising ''Gay Day at Dollywood'' for an upcoming event that attracted about 1,000 gays and lesbians, mainly from Tennessee, last year.

The Dollywood attorney's letter, paraphrased and forwarded by activists to fellow gays and lesbians via e-mail around the state and nationwide, has sparked anger.

''People feel like there's a lot of hatred against the (gay and lesbian) community in Tennessee.''

Actually, there are a lot of people who would like to take their kids to a clean, family-oriented amusement park and get away from the homosexual agenda that is being forced upon them constantly.

"We just want to go to the park and just have a fun day to be had by all."

Yeah, right. I was in Dollywood a few years ago and wondered how long it would be before activist gays went for the throat, attacking the very heart of traditional America. These people are despicable.

a fun day to be had by all.

What -- group sex, multiple partners? Being had by all? Right in Dollywood?

I guess I'm not surprised.

''We just want to go to the park and just have a fun day to be had by all.''

What they want to do, actually, is to subvert decency and outrage sensibilities. Nasty little queers with a big, filthy agenda.

And this isn't even about them, which always seems to be the claim that these folks are constantly making. If you read the document itself, it only says that they are using the park's trademark and Dolly's likeness without permission...a simple copyright case, which we on FR are no doubt familar with. Instead of quietly compling with a legal request...they pitch a fit and and bring out the same old charges about how ''People feel like there's a lot of hatred against the (gay and lesbian) community in Tennessee.''

BINGO!

Well put, TD.

I'd shut the park down for maintenance on "Gay Day".

Hate to say it but I could see this one coming a mile away...Dolly has seemingly embraced the gays of late...for instance the Country Music Flameworthy Awards where she invited one of the "Fab 5" on stage and teased around with him/her/it.
What did she expect? I believe she loves the idea of being a drag queen idol.

And this isn't even about them....

Ultimately it's always about them and their poop-sex. They have to make sure that they piss in the well everywhere they go.

Like I care. I wouldn't compromise my moral standards or personal convictions no matter how much screaming, ranting, or threatening they do.

This country got way off track a long time ago. The problem isn't just that homosexuals are demanding "civil rights" to which they are not entitled. The bigger problem is that the government has violated our constitutional right to free association. That's because the implicit corollary to freedom of association, is freedom of disassociation: people and private business must be allowed to disassociate from whomever they want for whatever reason they want.

Discrimination is not a dirty word; it's a natural survival mechanism practiced by every person--actually, every living creature--in daily behavior. Anti-discrimination laws should ONLY apply to government and public services.

It's standard trademark infringement ... ask anyone who's business was ever referred to as AAA ... they cannot just use a trademarked name to promote their own organiation. They were looking for a cause to be victims, and to garner more ink. Their response is either despicable or just plain stupid.

I am going to start an e-mail to spread the word to urge people to get Dollywood to shut down on May 22 and for people to avoid the park on that date.
