I just got in and am not up to speed yet..
"what is happening with this story? where is Sadr?"
Looks like escape and evasion - another time/another place :(
Who lied to us this time! Bet they were never there. No smoke, no gun. Must be W's fault.
this story is getting zero press coverage - even here on FR, everyone is obsessed with the swift vets!
Sad, but true.
Ain't that the truth!
These Hezbollah guys are getting their asses handed to them so they are getting their misdirected words flying everywhere and this is for one reason and one reason only, buy enough time for safe passage of the highest ranking officers still trapped in the mosque.
This reminds me of the beginning of a very silly, occassionally funny movie, Scary Movie 3. Remember when the friend of the girl playing the naomi watts character kept faking her death. Each succeeding fake out she would take a little longer to make sure she got the reaction of concern from her friend before saying gotcha. And her friend, because it's human nature, kept getting fooled. Same deal here.
If we are really letting the enemy string this out in order to get people out, what a crappy way to execute a war. All because of this building. By god, any arrangement has to include sufficient security to prohibit this from happening again. This Shrine needs to be like Pennsylvania Avenue. It has as much political meaning, sad to say but undeniably true.

Nothing more boring than Kerry reminding us he was a hero on the swift boat.

thanks.
that article makes it sound like no one knows what is going on right now.
Unfortunately, they will live to fight us another day. I wonder how many lines in the sand is enough?
I wish I could believe that our guys were all that well organized.
But I've been in the Army, and have buddies over there now.
So dream on, eh?
Looks like Tora Bora all over again, eh?
Interesting how some of these Mooslims are with us, and some are agin' us... but they all sort of look out for one another first, don't they?
Re:
" How much you want to bet that next month Al Sadr's gang will be back in that shrine?"
A whole MONTH, eh?
Took yer optimism pills this mornin', didn't ye, Mate? };^{)~

NOBODY said it would be easy uncle j.
What years were you in uncle J. if I may ask?
Disarm? better yet, accidently detonate the explosives and swipe the pedophile prophet worshiping mosque off the face of the earth.
"Olive branch", eh?
Every time these towelheads hand US an olive branch, the other end is attached to the detonator of a damned IED!
I've got a suggestion as to where they can put their "olive branch".
Wanna guess?
