I just received this email from a dear family friend who operates a sidewalk counseling group in Glendale, CA.
Hello, everyone!
I've been speaking to an unmarried woman in her mid-30s, in her fourth month with a Downs Syndrome Baby. She has an aborton scheduled.
She has relented, and given us a few days to see if there is a family out there who wants to adopt her special-needs baby. Her family is totally against the abortion, and wants her to adopt the baby out. Mom was very insistent on going ahead with the abortion, so this respite of a few days buys us time.
Do you know of anyone right now ready to adopt a special-needs baby? It is probably better if they have gotten their home study or are in the process. We need to have this woman speak to people who can take action now and convince her that her baby is wanted. If you don't know of any families, pls keep us all in prayer. I thank God we've been given this time to help her.
Thank you all.

Actually, we have become jaundiced. The idea that we say "If someone is willing to adopt this baby, it will live" is shocking. We treat puppies better than that.
Yes someone is doing a good thing but dear God, what have we become?
I know. We do have more compassion for puppies and kittens than our own species. That is a sad commentary on our society.
Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.
There is a Down's boy who attends our church with his parents and from my contact with him, he sounds like your son, moderately to severely retarded yet always full of joy. When he was 8 and my daughter was 2 months old, he came very near me when I was holding her to see. I took him up in my lap and then set my daughter in his, holding my arms around both. As it was the only baby he had ever held, his mother was very nervous but it was not necessary, we was so gentle and loving and wanted to kiss and hold her every time we went to church for months afterward.
Preston is a special gift to all of us. When we are singing praise and worship songs, he sings loudly and proudly and dances in his simple joy for the Lord. He is non verbal but that doesn't mean he doesn't have something to say. One Sunday he marched up on stage after several people had given their testimony, took a microphone, proudly proclaimed something that only the Lord understood and left the stage as we applauded and wept.
I will be so glad to get to heaven where Preston's affliction will be taken away and I can know him in the perfection that God will give him.
In agreement with you all for the life of God's precious one. Father, we also pray for the mother. We ask you, Holy and Mighty Spirit to enlighten the eyes of her understanding to know the hope of your calling and the riches of the glorious inheritance in the saints. We ask you, mighty Lord of the Harvest, to send forth laborers to bring her your Word of Grace so that she can be made whole in you, the Christ, the anointed Savior of God. We bless you Lord and thank you for your abundant mercy in this situation. All glory to You, in Jesus' name. Amen
Thank you for this beautiful prayer. And BTT!
Dan, I'm sitting here with tears running down my cheeks. I'm reading the posts and I'm -------- at a loss for words!
All of this has opened my heart. I probably needed to see all this just as much as our mom needs to find a home for her child. I am so involved with women that abort their babies for any and every reason, that I sometimes feel that there just isn't any hope.
WHAT AM I SAYING?????? With God, of course, there is hope. I needed, as they say, skin on my God, and all of this out-pouring has proven to me that there is LOVE and HOPE in the world.
My mom hasn't called me this morning (this was to be the day she aborted). With all of the prayers, I can't believe that she went through with it. I will continue to pray as I wait for her to call. God bless all!

Geri is truly a saintly person who has devoted her life to sidewalk counseling. She has saved many, many babies with the help of God. She emailed me this morning and told me there has been an outpouring of support, prayers, and people more than willing to adopt a special child.
I am humbled by Freepers. Keep this baby and its mom in your prayers.
Well ... if she did, she'll need our prayers even more.
Thanks for the heads-up. I hope she made the right decision.
Continuing prayers for this little one....Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.
Time to BTT.
Thanks for keeping us updated on this situation. In the meantime, here is a story to warm your heart. Please share this with Geri!
