I hadn't heard that, but, whether true or not, we will hear that as a part of conspiracy theories for years to come.

The logic is this: If you "sprinkle" an infinite number of events over an infinite number of intervals with an average of one event per 100,000 intervals, then you can look at each event and say there is a 1/100,000 chance of another event occurring in the same interval, but you will then count the double event twice, because you look at both events.

If that map is configured for 212 miles from London to Paris, then it is far more than 400 miles from Moscow to Athens, just using my eye. If I get a ruler out, I think 1400+ miles would be more likely. Help me here!!

It wasn't a lecture and I wasn't jumping on you. I was simply pointing out what is known about human memory, and what we know about it is that it gets rewritten constantly, that whenever the mind is presented with something that conflicts with its memory of an event there's a good chance the old version of the memory will lose, and subsequently eye witness testimony isn't reliable and shouldn't be held up as the holy grail method to determine what actually happened.

As for being opinionated check the thread, I never put forth a theory as to what happened, I was waiting for the facts before forming an opinion.

Maybe what you need to learn is to not get so angry and defensive anytime somebody disagrees with you.

It's a shame that many Americans are still in a Cold War mentality visavis the Russians.

The peoples of Russia and America have some similarities, Russia's eastward push in the 1800's mirrors America's push west.

Can't agree more.If Russia gives up Chechnya as some folks suggest it should,it would be giving a gold embossed invitation to A.Q & like minded NGOs to spread their tentacles throughout Central Asia & the Caucusus.Most people don't seem to realise ,that if Russia had'nt got tough in Chechnya,the US "alliances" with countries like Kazakhistan & it's operations in Afghanistan would'nt have been half as smooth as they are now.Chechnya is integral to Russia staying together(& they have every right to) & also keeping the Slammies in check in a part of the world with the largest unexplored energy resources(which is part of the reason for US interest in the region).

I've got 3 nuke plants within 40 miles - one north, one southeast, and one due east - and some large population centers; all target rich opportunities.

Widespread airline probing events, lots of MEs filming bridges and buildings etc, NEST Teams doing extra training on Saturday around here, PEMA conducting mass casualty training at the fairgrounds, and other subtle signs.

Again I did not inform you of my opinion, thus showing again that you clearly didn't understand what I said. I was informing you of FACTS, the FACTS are that eyewitness testimony is junk, there's no opinion there, just facts.

Actually I learned about the fallibility of human memory with experience, not just book learning. We did an experiment in PSY101 where we watched a video of a car accident and answered some questions about it. One of the questions asked if the truck in the accident had a gun rack, 39 of the 44 people in the class answered either yes or no to that question (I answered yes)... there was no truck in the accident, there was no truck on screen at any point in the video, and yet 39 people's memory of what they'd just seen minute earlier were altered by that one question. Experience.
