WASHINGTON (AP) -- Documents that should have been written to explain gaps in President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service are missing from the military records released about his service in 1972 and 1973, according to regulations and outside experts.
For example, Air National Guard regulations at the time required commanders to write an investigative report for the Air Force when Bush missed his annual medical exam in 1972. The regulations also required commanders to confirm in writing that Bush received counseling after missing five months of drills.
No such records have been made public and the government told The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that it has released all records it can find.

Couldn't Lehman rubber stamp some new ones for Bush?
CNN/AP missing some required marbles
It is nice to have a reminder every now and then of why I no longer watch CNN.
Is "CNN/AP Reporters For Kerry" registered as a 527?
Doesn't Bush deny missing five months of drills? If so, the LACK of records of counseling is evidence that he is telling the truth.
If I claim I never lived in California, the fact that California has no records establishing that I lived there is NOT evidence that I am lying.
HEY CNN .. WHY DON'T YOU ASK WHERE ALL OF JOHN KERRY'S RECORDS ARE??
HUH??
HUH??
CNN ARE HYPOCRITES!!
Hey, when Daryn gets Rush a guest spot, I'll watch!
LVM
they seem to have coordinated nicely with Kitty Kelly and the other 2 new books "BREAKING"!!!!! this week...527's and tell all books and Teresa, OH MY!
....and John Fairy Kerry should be indicted for breading the Geneva Convention Regulations, the UCMJ, and for witholding this information until after his return to CONUS. He should be impeached as senator from Massatwoshits and lying to the congressional committee hearing on Vietnam "atrocities".
Oh I see, this must be show prep for 60 Lying Minutes.
"has-beans"?
CNN used to be limas, or kidneys, or boston baked?
p.s. do you think CNN is making this story up?
No doubt we are all worried about this in the face of the Russian children's deaths.
All can be explained by regulatory "paperwork requirements" that were simply ignored. This is an AP hit job.
If you're not going to be flying you don't get the physical and you let the flight status lapse. This is very common even today. Desk jockeys don't get flying slots that cost flying dollars. It's simply a fact.
One part says the AP obtained records via the freedom of information act......do they have a freedom of information request for the hundreds of pages of documents that Kerry has yet to release?
