WASHINGTON (AP) - Bush administration failures to shut down al-Qaida and rebuild Iraq have fueled the insurgency and made the United States more vulnerable to a nuclear attack by terrorists, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy says.
In a speech prepared for delivery at George Washington University on Monday, Kennedy said that by shifting attention from Osama bin Laden to Iraq, President Bush had increased the danger of a ``nuclear 9/11.'' He said it was a good thing Bush was not in charge during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, a nuclear confrontation with Russia when Kennedy's brother was president.
``The war in Iraq has made the mushroom cloud more likely, not less likely,'' Kennedy said. Using imagery from the Vietnam War, he said U.S. soldiers are bogged down in a quagmire with no end in sight.
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said Monday it was wrong to suggest that the war in Iraq was a distraction. He also said lawmakers should be careful about making statements ``in the heat of political combat'' that could demoralize U.S. troops.

America: Kennedy Makes Female Riders More Vulnerable
Driving with Teddy Kennedy makes you More Vulnerable to drowning!
Ted: Just shut up.
Because scaring the Seniors doesn't work anymore so now they they are trying to scare the college kids
Which is also the reason the Democrats are talking about the draft again
"Is there a bigger jackass than teddie?"
In a word - NO. He needs to take a long drive off a short pier.
Killer Kennedy continues to portray his terminal stupidity.
His bs only works in Boston.
I wish the rest of his body would catch up to this brain dead a$$hole.
Not a pier; just a bridge in Chapaquiddick.
"What specifically HASN'T Bush done?"
According to the entirely unbiased liberal press and the entirely bipartisan DNC and it's candidate, John (the gigolo) Kerry:
1-Whatever Bush hasn't done, is everything that he should have done.
2-Whatever Bush has done, is everything that he shouldn't have done.
Go Bush!!!!!!!
Yes, exactly!
Wouldn't Teddy's speech be more accurately quoted as follows...
``The 'hiccup' in 'hiccup' has made the 'buuuurrrrp' more likely, not less likely,'' Kennedy said.
Yes,those who vote for him, over and over again.
And Kerry agreed with Bush before he disagreed with Bush on everything he should or should not have done.
"The war in Iraq has made the mushroom cloud more likely, not less likely,'' Kennedy said. Using imagery from the Vietnam War, he said U.S. soldiers are bogged down in a quagmire with no end in sight."
Teddy, grab your little bottle of booze and step away from the microphone.
I saw a Bumper sticker from a gutsy driver on a PA car driving through MA. It said:
Ted's car has killed more people than my gun.
I just always wonder if President Bush appointed his brother Jeb to be Attorney General what we would be hearing from the presstitutes.
But . . . but . . . but . . . how can we be in danger from nuclear weapons??? Everyone KNOWS there are NO WMD's in Iraq . . . the President lied about that, remember???
The people in Iraq are just a bunch of softies, no danger to anyone. It's the big bad US that's the danger . . .
We'd hear screaming from now til the end of time. I think back to our biggest problems today. And Democrats are resonsible for most of them. Maybe if we got rid of the Democrat thought machine for a while, our civilization would calm down. Think about it. Social Security is out of Control--who started that? A democrat! Welfare is out of control with little or no accountability--who started that? A Democrat! Medicare is out of Control--who started that? A Democrat! Kerry's screaming that Bush is going to reinstitute the draft but who proposed all the recent leglislation--Democrats! These people are out of their freaking minds.
