John F. Kerry returns to the Senate today basking in his national profile, but once again laboring in the long shadow cast by fellow Bay State Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Political insiders will be scrutinizing the delicate post-election political dance unfolding between Kennedy and Kerry with great interest. The pair are friendly rivals, but their staffers have clashed in the past as their divergent ambitions collided.
Kennedy was miffed when Kerry profusely thanked his campaign staffers but failed to mention him during the Faneuil Hall concession speech, sources said.
Some Kerry insiders, meanwhile, have privately grumbled about Kennedy's failure to raise more money for Kerry - a charge Kennedy allies dismiss.
As Kerry vaulted into prominence winning his party's presidential nomination, Kennedy was a loyal foot soldier, crisscrossing the country for Kerry rallies and fund-raisers and assailing Bush with gusto.

snip, snip..bite, bite..grrrr. Back to being girlymen! Bunch of losers.
What's happened to Lard Ass?
He's been VERY quiet lately (chortle, chortle).
Wow! Two murderers bickering. LOL
LOL, shouldn't that be "wide shadow"???
This is the piece Rush referred to today, thanks for posting it!
Groaning.........it has been SOOOoooo peaceful without the ghastly presence of Kerry and Mrs. H-K the last two weeks.
Hasn't it?
And how about not hearing about missing weapons of mass destruction in every other sentence?
Sublime.
Kennedy said it's all "under the bridge" now.
who?...;)
The country hums along so nicely when the war criminal crawls back under his rock!
He's big enough that if he stands between you and the Sun, it qualifies as an eclipse.
And Ted Kennedy--isn't he dead yet?
Ahhhh... the revolution eats its own. Guess kerry won't be letting fat Teddy drive (his family's) SUV. What a tragedy. And what's up with not thanking the Godfather? First thing they teach you in politics school is you thank EVERYONE at the start of the speech, the assistant to the vice superintendent of schools, the county utility board members, so did kerry just forget? These people are incompetetent beyond belief ... imagine if 65,000 votes in Ohio had gone the other way... kerry could start WWIII just by forgetting to thank some world leader!
Rubbish. kennedy is a hog who only works his own agenda.
I firmly believe that President Bush won't be inviting him back to the WH any time soon for a movie and popcorn.
President Bush has delivered the message, "Don' mess with Texas" quite plainly in the past few days.
Neither sinator from Massachusetts will be given much consideration.
Old Sot Teddy should go to a clinic and dry out. The crap he came out with during the election, was beyond trash, and a solid indicator of the real agenda of the left, POWER AND CONTROL.
Teddy reflects the completely void core and missing agenda for the American people...other than hard Socialism and confiscatory taxation.
Kerry,John (noun) - a bad nightmare the democratic party tried to hold up as a leader. In 2004, he became marginalized and was never heard from again.
Lordy be! Kerry really does want to run again!
LOL! I was wondering what Kerry's footnote in history would say.
