BUSH LEFT BONO SPEECHLESS
Fast-talking rocker BONO was impressed when President GEORGE W BUSH interrupted him mid-flow to get his point across during a debate on the AIDS crisis.
The VERTIGO singer, who works tirelessly to raise awareness of issues affecting the developing world, wouldn't allow President Bush a word in edgeways, forcing him to bang his fist passionately on the table.
Bono says, "He banged the table at me once when I was ranting at him about AIDS drugs. He banged the table to ask me to let him reply. I was very impressed that he could get so passionate. And let's face it, tolerating an Irish rock star is not a necessity of his office."
Sanest Bono line I've ever heard.

The only time I listen to Bono is when he's singing. He's got a good singing voice, but not a good talking voice. Bono, who cares what you think about anything? At least he's not bashing Bush though.
I wish I could see that......and I wonder what Bush's reply was.....

Stop the singing and you're on to something, Dubya.
Apparently Bono's debate tactics include ranting and shutting out his opponent.
At least he offered words of respect when Bush rejected those tactics.
And yet, whenever he speaks to conservative audiences, senators or commentators they always praise his thoughtfulness and real passion over the issues he's tackling. Mark my words, one day Bono will make a fine Secretary-General of the U.N.
It's a sad day for music when Bono is identified as the "Vertigo" singer. That's a terrible song. Bono could be better identified as the War, Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, and Achtung Baby singer. There aren't too many bands out there that can boast of four albums as good as those.
