For Your Viewing Pleasure: Happy Endings for "Middle America"

Edited on 02/19/2005 11:36:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson. [history]

With the help of some really magnanimous people -- most specifically the generous and talented Jeffers M. Dodge -- I managed to revisit my Unspun ways.

In 2004, a posse of Hollywood stars came out en masse to lend their hip, fabulous selves to the presidential campaign of John F. Kerry, confident that their added (and, frankly, much needed) sparkle would ensure the defeat of incumbent President George W. Bush. Did Shiny Objects indeed distract The People? Post election, and post a rather ignominious defeat, their standard-bearer Michael Moore stated that they were indeed victorious -- that they had successfully "prevented a Bush landslide." Was that really the sole outcome? In other words, when they returned from their forays into flyover country did they find that their thrones had maintained their elevation in their absence?
Hope you enjoy it!

I'm on dialup, Angel.
According to uShnook, that's a whopping *52MB* download.

~sigh~
Coming from you, I'll bet it was simply *fabulous*.

Best I can do is BTTT for others (with cable) who might've missed it first time around. ;^)

Damn.

...story of my life.

Loved it, including fast Freddy
Frankly, the outtakes could've run on and on... (LOL)... my faves being: asking a bunch of construction workers in Spanish what they thought, and some Japanese folks who, whilst we were shooting the interiors, asked to pose for pictures with me because they thought I was famous (LOL). Oh, and the little Indian security guard who demanded my "credentials". LOL!!!

Sounds like you had fun; 'Close Encounters' of the Hollywood kind! (I'm downloading - Hope it works..)

My daughter/friends were caught up in the 'aftermath' of a 'mutual-appreciation' ceremony there, and I'll never forget her description of the place, and the cast-off trappings of these narcissist 'illuminati'!

It was great entertainment for a young lady with both feet on the ground!

Loved the gal, loved the camera work! No sharp movements that make the camera the center of attention instead of the interesting people which were being interviewed and the very talented and intellegent interviewer.

Keep up the great work. The internet rules, and Freerepublic rules the internet.

That was great! You need your own show Girl. Or at least a weekend segment on Fox News - or something.

The boomerang opening was brilliant.
Jeffers found the definitions at dictionary.com, and they're so perfect it comes across as having been made up (yet, of course, YCMTSU. = )

Glad you're on the Right side. :)

'Cause I don't wanna be Wrong!

;^)

Thank you for the very kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for doing this.
Because I'm obviously rather twisted, the pleasure was all mine. (One of the possible outtakes was me telling the security guard who tried to boot me, "No, really. This isn't professional at all. I just like to go home and watch strange people on my TV.")

I would have loved to include a clip of Wile E. Coyote having one of his typical boomerang moments. LOL. I definitely require deadlines, even if they're self-imposed, or I'd be re-tooling forever.
