Schiavo was not in a deep coma, she is brain damaged.
Quinlan was on several machines. She was brain DEAD.
Ms. Schiavo is not, and a feed bag is not a machine!

She was not suffering, until they started to starve her to death...

Furthermore; Something most folks don't even consider:
A mentally retarded person does not have the same expectations in life. They aren't concerned about being able to do all the things that we are capable of. It's not within their cognitive ability. They are happy just staring at a pretty picture, hearing some nice music, etc.

Ms. Schiavo probably has very little cognitive thinking, if any. But we don't really know.
But like any severely retarded baby, or brain damaged person, they don't care. They don't have expectations that you or I have. Brain damaged people have forgotten what they used to be like. The world as they know it, is different then ours. Their reality is not our reality.

BUT:
They still want to live.

I am with you, but I am very angry as the dormant majority the Christian conservative movement is wasting ALL of its energy on this one single subject. I would love for us to get excited about other issues. Please read my post #199
