Unfortunately I don't think a modern MRI couldactually be performed, from information I've seen - some elctrode type thingies she had embedded in her brain in the early 90s... I could be wrong, But I think that is actually why one hasn't been done.

As I understand the MRI could be performed if the electrodes were removed. There is also another test (PET Scan) that hasn't been done and still others that could be re-administered as a final confirmation of her status. I just really don't understand why they aren't done as a matter of course...they were when I faced similar decisions in my family.
That was the intent - put that thing in her brain so no MRI could be done.
However, that electrode was to have been taken out after one year. Think how no MRI was done BEFORE that electrode was inserted. To me, that is very revealing.

True. When she was taken to California for expiramental treatment, they embedded some kind of chip or something in her brain to measure her brain function. Unfortunately, an MRI is useless because of this. However, the best instrument would probably be a CAT or PET SCAN. I may be wrong of course. According to the CAT Scan that was given her, most of her brain has been replaced by spinal fluid.
