That's what I'm thinking, too. But I'd like to know more about the bombs he did use in those other two Atlanta bombings.

"You may want to change your screen name. How are gays not innocent civilians?"

I should have re-worded that. You DO understand the meaning, though. He targeted those he viewed as grossly immoral. In the Olympic Park that day, there were pregnant women, children, elderly folks and heterosexual people. Given his ideology, why would he bomb them?

"You may want to re-phrase this."

I did. It was a hurried post.

"I don't think the lady (target) in the park that he killed was either of the two. May he rot in hell for his crimes."

I don't think he did that bombing. I think they told him if he confessed to it, they wouldn't execute him.
Two people have pointed out the bad wording I used in the post you responded to. It was a rushed post and I didn't mean it the way it sounded. But it does beg the question: Why would a man who targeted abortion clinics and gays detonate a bomb that would have killed heterosexuals and possibly even children?
It doesn't make sense. I agree he should rot in hell for what he did. "Revenge is mine and mine alone" according to God and he is the ultimate judge of what is right and wrong, not Eric Rudolph.

The FBI can plant or slant the evidence to show whatever they want, so we'll never know the real story.

I see what you mean now. He viewed gays and abortionists as evil doers so why would he bomb Olympic Park which had lots of innocents and almost no evil doers?

You raise a good point. If he was the olympic bomber, I wonder if he viewed the Olympics as a symbol of evilness. There was a big issue here in Atlanta prior to the Olympics over gay rights. An Atlanta suburb (Cobb County) got some of the olympic events pulled from the county since they had some anti gay rights laws on the book.

The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) kind of went mad with power during the period leading up to the games. ACOG engaged in social engineering by coerceing communities to change laws or ordinances. If the communities complied then they would be rewarded with lucrative olympic events.

I wonder if Rudolf wanted to ruin the Atlanta games in order to embarrass ACOG. That may be why he placed the bomb in a location that wouldn't cause horrible damage but would certainly put a huge scare into people.

Ends up ACOG didn't need any help in ruining the games - they screwed the whole thing up and embarrassed the city and the state.

>>He probably didn't do the Olympic bombing. <<

I've wondered about that myself. Not so much from a "didn't fit the profile" outlook, but rather, the Olympic bomb seemed (to me anyway) a very crude one. At least compared to the other bombs he obviously did. Perhaps I don't know enough, but that's my suspicion.

The other thing is, how can a guy hide out for 5.5 years in the wilderness, then get caught going through a trash can in the SAME general area everyone was looking for him in?

I'm sorry but all this defense for a man who was a terrorist is just disgusting. For those of you who don't know a terrorist is defined as, "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."

The war on terror should not be limited to Al-Qaeda, but rather all people who seek to use terrorism to reach there goal.

Rudolph, believed to be a follower of a white supremacist religion that is anti-abortion, anti-gay and anti-Semitic, was charged with carrying out bombings in Georgia and Alabama over three years ending in 1998.

Anti-gay white supremacist in an Alabama or Georgia prison. Yeah, death is too good for him. He'll pay for his crimes this way. Probably a few times every day.

That's just plumb wrong -- He will be a member of one of the strongest gangs in the prison community. As such, Rudolf will have an easier life in prison than a loner.

Still, his love life may undergo radical changes.

The FBI did a GREAT job with this case. It was obvious from the start that Richard J did it. I mean come on...all of that evidence they had against him. Had me fooled. Surely it is not possible for the US Government to make a case against someone and make them look guilty. This isn't Cuba you know.

Now what about that Anthrax? Perhaps we can get him to plead guilty to that as well. We can have this all wrapped up for the ten-o-clock news.

lol all the way around. Glad they got the guy! He should have stuck with the abortion clinics. What is up with the Olympic Bombing? I never could find the connection? I can understanding wanting to blow up a building that rips apart little babies but the Olympics???
