Saturday, July 23, 2005 12:03 a.m. EDT Gitmo Troops Rebuke Ted Kennedy

During his inspection tour of Guantanamo Bay this week, Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy got an earful from U.S. troops running the facility, who blasted Kennedy for his anti-war statements and similar comments by other Democrats.

Soldiers from Kennedy's home state gave him "a piece of their mind," Pentagon officials told the Washington Times Bill Gertz and Rowan Scarborough.

One official said that Kennedy "got a stiff reaction from those home-state soldiers. ... The troops down there expressed their disdain for that kind of commentary, especially comparisons to the gulag." Hawaii Democrat Daniel Akaka, who visited Gitmo along with Kennedy, reportedly got a similar reaction.

never any proof she was pregnant, that I know of....

Thats because no autopsy was ever performed. But a blood alcohol test did reveal that Mary Joe did have a blood alcohol level of .09.

After which, Kennedy helped himself to a stiff one, single malt, probably.

Where did you read a factual account of The Swimmer's Big Adventure? I was young when it occurred, too, and the impression I had was there was a significant coverup.

Judging by what my father told me, Ted used his political/family/other connections to keep Mary Jo's family from talking. The average Massachusetts liberal has NO self-respect!

Note no soldiers were identified, both senators denied it happened, and the "source" is an unnamed pentagon official. This story is bogus.

"Yeah, tell it to Mary Jo Kopeckne"

Right on!! It is the opinion of our family that he got away with nothing less than murder and then was re-elected and has the nerve to sit in judgement!! What a blubber-a$$!

Maybe we in Washington shouldn't complain so much about the elected twits in Massachusetts, as we have more than our fair share of real gems. However, we have the benefit that our seditionists are not worshipped as much by the mainstream pseudomedia, so they don't have as much opportunity to stick their feet in their mouths.

Well, I don't think I can bring myself to say thanks, Boazo! But, I will tell you that I laughed out loud as I opened your post. My husband happened to be passing by the computer behind me as this horrendous sight came onto the screen and said, "Now, that is pornography." LOL.

Was this reported anywhere else?

NewsMax lifted it from the Bill Gertz/Rowen Scarborough "Inside the Ring" in the Washington Times at:

http://www.washtimes.com/national/inring.htm

NewsMax is nothing but a "clipping service". They are never original.
