TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's Defense Ministry has determined that Iran could destroy the Jewish state with two atomic bombs.

Officials said the ministry and the Israel Defense Forces have conducted simulations of an Iranian nuclear attack for damage assessment and response. They said authorities have determined that two nuclear bombs that explode in the center and north of Israel would destroy most of the population and all vital infrastructure.

The assessment was issued at a conference on Iran and its nuclear program. Deputy Defense Minister Zeev Boim said two Iranian missiles tipped with a nuclear warhead could destroy Israel. Boim said even one nuclear weapon could cripple the country.

"This is a real existential threat," Boim said in an address to the Academic College in Ashkelon on May 24.

It's a guarantee if the Iranians tried it. The Israeli nuketipped cruise missiles on their subs guarantee a repsonse.

If the rest of the Muslim world were smart enough to understand MAD, they'd be the ones trying to restrain Iran. Follow Israel's logic: if they can be annhilated with two nukes, and especially given the short distance to Iran, once they even suspect Iran is nuclear-capable, they have to go to launch-on-warning. And since they have somewhere near 200 nukes themselves, their deterrent's going to be targetted to 'spread the goodness' all over the Muslim world, with only a couple targeted for Mecca (gotta be sure that one gets hit).

I'd hate to be sitting in Riyadh or Bahrein knowing you're one nervous Israeli away from annihilation.

Warm up the jets. Target facilities, infrastructure, AND PERSONNEL.

They should not only hit the reactors, but the supply facilities, figure out where the engineers/admins live and nail them as they sleep, and hit local generators, sewage, and everything else that supports the facillities. Hit bridges in and out. Everything.

I believe that Israel will strike in it's own defense, when it deems the danger is beyond acceptability. Unlike the US, it's security agencies talk to each other and the government knows who is #1. It would be well if the Iranians took a close look at what could happen to them
