(CNSNews.com) - A number of Gold Star military families say they are "thoroughly disgusted with Cindy Sheehan and her publicity stunts."
Sheehan was arrested outside the White House this week, during a protest to mark the death of the 2000th soldier in Iraq. Sheehan and other anti-war protesters staged a "die-in," lying head to toe on the sidewalk. (See related story)
Sheehan's shenanigans have offended other Americans who also have lost loved ones in Iraq:
"We, the parents and family members of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have served and given their lives defending America in Operation Iraqi Freedom...are angered that Mrs. Sheehan is once again using our fallen loved ones against our wishes to undermine the cause they voluntarily gave their lives for," Gold Star families said in a press release issued Friday.
"Her macabre die-ins in front of the White House do not honor the dead nor do they help the living -- they give encouragement to Al Qaeda to keep killing Americans until we surrender."
The Gold Star families complain that Sheehan and others are handing out souvenir bracelets with their loved ones' names on them as bonuses to protesters who join her anti-war crusade.
"Her continued abuse of our loved ones makes our blood boil and we demand that she stop trivializing their sacrifices with her tawdry acts," the families said.
The Gold Star families say Sheehen and her allies are not peace activists. "They are working to bring about the defeat of America in the war on terror," the families said, pointing to Sheehan's description of terrorists fighting in Iraq as "freedom fighters."
"The groups she works with have openly expressed their support for the terrorists and their contempt for this country," the press release said.

I thought this was a paid-for-by-Cindy's-leftist-friends press conference, but it appears that the National Press Club invited her to this, and called it a "NPC Newsmaker" event. So, it looks like the NPC is funding the efforts to get Cindy Sheehan's hate-America message out.
The big question is this, will any of the five media present at her "event" report what she has said????
I wonder if we can get some negative feedback to them over this?

Get the Ingmar Bergman film. It's sung in Swedish . . . !!!!! but it's splendidly filmed. The Australian Opera did a charming English version with Papageno played as your average Ocker (Aussie bloke).
I know several of these parents personally. One man even flew from California to Texas to meet me there and make sure his son's cross was removed. The majority of the parents that lost loved ones do NOT like what Cindy is doing. It hurts them deeply.
If you go to her site....you will see she has about a dozen members and not all of them are immediate family members of the fallen hero. Gold Star Families that signed the letter out now numbered about 40. If there have been over 2000 killed then that means there are also 2000 families. If Cindy only has a dozen signed up with her group....that tells you the majority of the people she has with her have no connection to one of our fallen heroes. The media doesn't care about that. It was quite evident when we had Gold Star families wanting to speak out and none of the media wanted to interview them.
Yes, but giving up isn't going to help. I know a lot of these families too and they aren't willing to give up. The media isn't going to care unless we have some numbers to complain with.
