Cindy Sheehan's Latest Stunt Denounced by Gold Star Parents and Military Families
U.S. Newswire ^ | 10/28/2005 | Kristinn Taylor

WASHINGTON, Oct.28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Gold Star parents and military family members issued the following statement regarding Cindy Sheehan's die-ins at the White House this week on the occasion of the 2000th death of American servicemen and women serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom:

"We, the parents and family members of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have served and given their lives defending America in Operation Iraqi Freedom are thoroughly disgusted with Cindy Sheehan and her publicity stunts.

"We are angered that Mrs. Sheehan is once again using our fallen loved ones against our wishes to undermine the cause they voluntarily gave their lives for. Her macabre die-ins in front of the White House do not honor the dead nor do they help the living -- they give encouragement to Al Qaeda to keep killing Americans until we surrender.

"Mrs. Sheehan is offering souvenir bracelets with our loved ones' names on them as bonuses to those who join her in the die-ins at the White House. Her continued abuse of our loved ones makes our blood boil and we demand that she stop trivializing their sacrifices with her tawdry acts.

"We know that Mrs. Sheehan and her allies are not peace activists. She herself has called terrorists fighting for Al Qaeda in Iraq 'freedom fighters'. The groups she works with have openly expressed their support for the terrorists and their contempt for this country. She and they are working to bring about the defeat of America in the war on terror.

"We support our country, we support the war on terror and we honor our loved ones' service."

Citizen Cindy is selling bracelets? Wait till her Commie supporters hear she's profiting off the war...

Interesting how the left hates it when the right replays the words of JFK, claiming his legacy shouldn't be used in politics, but they have no problem using dead soldiers.

Military families should speak up now, cause when these people get back in power one of the first things they'll probably do is try to silence military people and their families.

Speaking of selling bracelets. Would she have to report that as sales and income? I wonder what her income tax return looks like

Our hearts go out to you, they ache for you and we are truly honored and humbled to be represented by you. Our thanks and prayers go out to you wherever you are, may your lives be mended and may God strengthen you to meet each day and carry on. You have a huge family out here, believe me.

I would think or should I say hope there would be a way that these families could take legal action. They are using the names to "market" their cause, and to my knowledge in order to use someones name to market something you need written permission or consent.(please forgive my lack of knowledge in this area if I am wrong) Especially if you are selling items "bracelets" with an individuals name on it. This aspect of their cause absolutely makes me sick to my stomach, I know how I would feel if someone was wearing a bracelet with my husband's name on it, thinking they were some how honoring him for something I know that he would never support. My heart and prayers go out to all the families that have lost loved ones and now have to deal with this too!

You're exactly right. However, because media attention on "her" is the most important thing in her life, she will continue to involve herself in more and more outrageous stunts in order to attempt to regain her "media darling" status.

I'm not a "head-shrinker," but I think it's pretty obvious that we're actually witnessing completely pathological behavior. I wouldn't be surprised if someday she either threatened to hurt herself, or actually did hurt herself in order to get media time.

Thanks for the ping.

Long-in-the-tooth-hippy Sheehan is quite clearly unhinged at this point, however I hope she continues to call upon HRC and John Kerry to meet her demands, it must be embarrassing to them and that is comforting don't you think?

Bravo to the Gold Star Mothers and all who have loved ones who have served and are serving. God Bless you all and God Bless our Troops!

This will go nowhere. Gold Star Parents mean nothing to the MSM, Democrats and liberals.

I am not worried about that. The fact that Gold Star parents have the strength to continue on encourages me. If you have not been there, well, you can't appreciate what an effort it takes. I just attended my third military funeral today, and the second was for my own son... Though we are not always vocal, we are everywhere, and we will do what we can. And there are many who will listen, despite our quiet voice.

God Bless you Pop.

The MSM to me is one of the most reprehensible group of individuals this veteran has ever seen, read, and watched on television. I used to not be so cynical until I watched the MSM in action during Clinton's watch.
