Bush to Shake up Team

Posted on 12/25/2005 4:11:34 PM PST by TRY ONE

Heard from a reliable source that Bush is going to shake up his Staff after New Year. As a minimum Andy Card is going to be replaced by Bush's best friend and former Commerce Secetary, Don Evans. More later.

We on the Internet are the pamphleteers.

I watch for all of your "pamphlets" ny77, as apparently does the Great One, so I feel I am in good company :)

"I don't believe Andy "pushed" Miers. The President has a mind of his own and is perfectly capable of making his own decisions ..."

Bush folded a pair of 6's ...he'll win with a KJ suited

You have been a freeper much longer than I have.

I follow your lead.

We are all equally engaged here.

Good posts get recognized.

There is always room for improvement.

If you are accurate, topical, quick, thorough, and engaged enough with many alternative media venues in order to be informative here in this forum, you will be recognized among fellow freepers. Even talk show hosts.

I have grown in this forum.

Far from perfect.

No where near done.

He might want to try gags on some of his people
I don't think it's "his" people. It's CIA/FBI/State, isn't it?

I agree with you. Card may leave, but if he does it won't be because of the President canning him. He may just be tired of things in DC.

And the President makes his own decisions, for good or ill. He wouldn't lay the blame on Card.

I have grown in this forum.

As have I. My first post was a comment by Nancy Pelosi which I found dumb and offensive (big surprise). I had heard the comment myself on some tv channel, but I was instantly challenged to provide source and backup. Well, you can imagine, my attention skills got sharpened on the spot as I realized I was going to have to have confirmation for anything I posted, something which gained my instant respect. FR has done tons for my research and computer skills in addition to my general knowledge. What a marvelous thing it is.

I am currently looking for information on a book event which I saw today on C-Span-3.

One of the authors of a book on Eisenhower and his secret CIA programs was deputy editor at the New York Times - Phillip Taubman.

I am looking for the transcript of the Q&A because the answers this guy gave for it being necessary to keep secret programs under wraps for national security purposes was striking consider what the Slimes has done lately.

The book event and Q&A was March 17, 2003 at Stanford.

I wish I had a transcript.

Things like this are what freepers do.

I doubt it, Andy Card is looking at making history as the longest serving chief of staff in history.

Bush isn't likely to dump Card, as Card is also the least active CofS in recent history.

Evans has other things to do that he is interested in, along with his family.

The rumors that Card was going to go, either to treasury, a cabinet post, retirement, run for an office, etc, have all been hogwash for the last year or so.

He's not dumping Card, though I would like to see Evans come back.

You know, I know it's not all that PC, but why doesn't our President, a man we know and love and see for what he is, just put people in place that will buck him up?

I mean, come on! Should this really take SIX YEARS to figure out? Quit playing the middle of the field, Mr. President! Just. Be. Yourself.

Thinking, rational, adult America loves you, Dude! We voted you in TWICE fer Pete's Sake! Just kick some @ss. Even Alexander Haig survived the "I'm in charge, here!" episode under President Reagan. (Well, we did laugh at that a little.) Yeesh! You. Are. In. Charge.

Act like it.

The MSM has gone all out to undermine and denigrate this President since his re-election, so, IMHO it doesn't matter a bit whether he does or doesn't change staff. They will find something with which to berate him.

Thankfully we have a President that doesn't pay attention to polls and has about as much respect for the MSM as I do.....which is ZIP, ZERO, NADA!!

Well, it isn't listed in Booknotes Archives for March, 2003, but that's C-Span 2. There is almost always a way. I'll look around tomorrow.

First get rid of his press secretary. Replace Scott McClellan (sorry, he's a great guy, but he just isn't ramrodding reality to the enemy press as I'd prefer) with someone better. I can't think of any names right now, but we'd like a cross between Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and General Honore. Maybe Ann Coulter...she'd pound the press to shreds--and she's got sex appeal, to judge by some responses on this forum. I want The New York Times denounced incessantly as an enemy propaganda outlet until the American people believe reality rather than the "Truth" that enemy propaganda calls itself.

The key is the Q&A portion with this guy Philip Taubman.

I look forward to finding and posting it in the new year when all the hosts come back from vacation.

His words will obliterate the NY Times argument.

I was shocked when I heard them because they completely contradict the actions of the Times regarding the NSA program.

No. Whoever is behind George needs to give George a new brain (transplant) that functions.

And yes, I am a conservative.
