I saw security push the reporter out of the way - but I don't see anything wrong with it - he was just doing his job.

If security had shoved the guy to the ground - then I would agree, but what I saw was nothing.

Initiating physical contact of that sort is known as "assault" -- most likely "assault and battery", since mere threatening words will qualify as "assault".

Can "mere" shoving be "battery"? I don't see why not. Opening a door and walking into someone else's house qualifies as "breaking and entering", even if nothing was "broken."

From what I've seen so far, that donkeypit is in a world of hurt -- IF the reporter and/or his organization has at least one testicle among 'em. He committed assault and battery, and, impersonated a police officer. If he was also carrying a weapon (and from the measure of arrogance already displayed, I think it not improbable), then so much the better -- at sentencing time.

We'll see what comes of this. My guess is "nothing". A pity, since each time one yields to a bully, the bully becomes even more belligerant.
