UNITED NATION -- Han Song Ryol, North Korea's deputy U.N. ambassador, chief U.S.-based nuclear negotiator and interlocutor with Washington, is being recalled, say South Korean sources at the United Nations.
The news comes less than a week after North Korea (DPRK) announced it defied U.N. warnings and detonated a test nuclear device.
Han, though assigned to the U.N., has in fact been Pyongyang's point man with Washington and was the so-called "New York channel" between the White House and North Korea.
The veteran diplomat, who has held the post for more than eight years, was known for his "cordial" relationship with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who first met Han when he was the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. in the mid-1990s during the Clinton administration.

FTB. "T" stands for "the" or "them".
Boy, that cordial relationship sure paid off.
Free advice to Han Song Ryol: when little elvis calls and you
can avoid picking up the phone, don't answer. If you go back there
now you're probably gonna get blamed for all the heat
little elvis is taking. Say hello to a little cage.
Little cage???
He's a dead man walking. As soon as he shows his face in North Korea, he'll most likely be tortured to death. Then the remains will be sent to some unsuspecting NK military kitchen.
