OOOh... I left c-span on after the presentation and they have the callers. First caller, staunch republican, cut her off, what do you think the legacy is.
Next caller, rabid lefty, they let him ramble and ramble.

At least the first call was a very teary gal, who said how much she'll miss him, and that his legacy is: the safety of this country.

I was in jr high and high school during the Vietnam War...so it was definitely NOT the atmosphere to garner patriotic feelings when seeing the military.
Now that I am OLD...I wish that I hadn't had that ruin my views...because I really wish I would have joined the military even though back then women didn't go into combat...

That was a great ceremony celebrating a truly great American. Thank you Sec. Rumsfeld for your service to this Nation. You served with honor, dedication and loyalty to your leaders and more importantly, to the brave men and women who serve in our Armed Forces. I am sad to this dedicated man go.
Caller on C-SPAN sticking up for Rummy and blaming the NY Times and the press! Even libs now calling for him on the Democrat line...
