All bees? Or certain types?

If it's all bees we are all going to hurt.

Isn’t AIDS a blood-borne disease? Insects don’t have blood systems, do they?

“All bees?”

No, only those that fall into the high risk categories of multiple sexual partners or intravenous drug users.

Heard yesterday on the radio that one investigation shows that the problem came from Asia. Not sure about this though.

This bee thing is going to get ramped up and when we find out the “truth” it will be something that requires UN action, American sacrifice, a huge investment - probably in the billions, will benefit Al Gore and will be blamed on Bush.

Believe it or not, insects do have a ‘blood’ system, though they are not warm-blooded. Something has to get the oxygen to their tissues, too. They even have a blood-brain barrier (helps them fight off toxins).

Biology can be quite surprising.

They’re comparing it to AIDS in as much as it appears the bees are being attacjked by something that is suppressing their immune systems, just as AIDS attacks human immune systems. This problem is real. I saw a news segment about a local bee keeper who has lost his entire colony. They’re just gone. They leave the hive and don’t come back. This could have a huge agricultural impact.

Sudden Colony Collapse Disorder is an apt term.

Some are blaming cell phones.

BTW, we’ve lost 3 out of 4 hives this years so far.
