The Times of London | June 3, 2007

The Times of London is publishing portions of Carl Bernstein's biography of Hillary Clinton online. Anybody interested in learning more about the world's smartest woman can check out the following installments:

The pain of being Hillary

Her husband was president, now Hillary Clinton is Democratic frontrunner in the White House race. In a world exclusive, she reveals the sacrifices she has made for power

Hillary's impossible men, starting with her father

Early life putting up with a demanding patriarch and echoes of Hillary's future marriage

Her other man (Vince Foster)

As Hillary Clinton emerges as frontrunner to be America’s next president, friends and former aides talk to her biographer about the tragedy that scarred her first years in the White House

More installments are sure to follow in coming weeks. Meanwhile, in keeping up with the demands of the British public for more Trailer Trash Soap Opera, the Times has also published the following non-Bernstein articles on the Arkansas Royals:

Hillary leads, but Obama is the man to watch

So near and yet so far away - the power and glory she deserves and the one who might keep her from it

Divorce, politics and the Clinton ambitions

Bill Clinton wanted to divorce his wife in 1989 for another woman with whom he had fallen in love but Hillary Clinton forbade it

How Chelsea, the 'miracle child' helped keep the marriage together

Chelsea Clinton, from the moment of her difficult conception, was an enormous factor in keeping her parents together but far more complicated considerations were at work than the simple nostrum of parents who “stay together for the sake of the children

Hillary can't live with him - can't live without him

Hillary Clinton could be heading for the White House, but who will go with her? Will Chelsea be her mother’s first lady? Will Bill share his wife’s bed? And will another ‘bimbo eruption’ derail her bid for the presidency?

Enjoy.

Bill Clinton wanted to divorce his wife in 1989 for another woman with whom he had fallen in love but Hillary Clinton forbade it

Does the word "love" strike anyone but me as totally incoherent in this context? I've never seen the word "love" used where it's meaning is so plastic and fake as to make me puke while laughing at the same time.

So ole Bill has been a prisoner for all these years...who was around in 1989?

"Foster had comparatively little interest in politics, exuded integrity, was meticulous in habit and dress, was conversant in every nuance of politesse, and spoke ill of almost no one....the soul of discretion..."

...a perfect patsy.

This deputy maintained that perhaps the most essential thing to understand about Hillary was that (from what he had learnt and observed) she must have been an unhappy person for most of her adult life. And a very angry one at that, in his view, often in a state of agitated discontent in the years he worked with her, sometimes icy cold and embittered, though obviously capable of fun and laughter and warm friendship (though rarely of irony).

This clip sort of sums it up on Hillary, as far as I'm concerned. This is not the kind of person Americans want as their president. Now the question is, will the mainstream media ever allow the really Hillary to be known?

Look at Venezuela — Chavez closes down the newspapers, but the internet/ Truly Free Press / is up and running day and night. Whether the MSM wants Hilary or Obama or lies about the ROP or anything, ‘you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.’

The internet, the bloggers — THESE are our free press, and as long as we have these/ and mouths/ and printing presses, we need not fear the MSM.

You and me both. She's got real mental issues and I wouldn't let her within a million miles of the White House.

The woman’s name was Marilyn Jo Jenkins. She was Hillary’s worst nightmare: an attractive, accomplished, rich antagonist with whom Bill believed himself to be in love. He wanted to end his marriage. Hillary refused. She would fight to keep her marriage and her family together, she told Betsey Wright. She had invested too much into her partnership with Bill to abandon it.

Jenkins was about the same age as Hillary, a Southerner, a beauty, a divorced mother of two young children.

She and Bill probably began seeing each other in 1988. Around this time, he was asking some fellow governors whose marriages had deteriorated how they had dealt with the political consequences of divorce. He was clearly suggesting that he might be in a similar situation.

When Wright confronted him on the subject in the spring or early summer of 1989, Bill confirmed he had fallen in love with another woman, but now he wanted to fix his marriage to Hillary. He also confirmed to her, Betsey said, that Hillary had refused to give him a pass out of the marriage. “And that he had thought he was really in love with this woman, but he had also decided he wanted . . . he’d rather save the marriage with Hillary.”

And we all know how well that worked out... as they say, the rest is history.
