Hopefully, the editorial pages will remain as good as ever. OK, OK, except for immigration, where WSJ is absolutely horrid.
Murdoch’s heir is a flaming liberal. Murdoch is a very old man, and far more an entrepreneur than a conservative.
I have noticed that the closer this buy out came to being a reality, the further left the WSJ news pages became. I presume that the news writers were daring Murdoch to remark on it, or they were trying to offend him.
As for the editorial page stance on immigration. I don’t think that they have experienced many of the problems associated with immigration in an up close and personal kind of way. It’s easy to be sympathetic to poor single mom, who was abandoned by her abusive husband in Mexico, and is now cleaning your house to support her five kids. It’s another thing to have your kids in a grade school where 30% of the kids only speak Spainish and the teachers are forbidden to move ahead of the non-English speaking kids.
the editorial pages are good, but most of the articles are written with an extreme leftist bias. Hoepfully Murdoch will change that.
