I do not know enough about a convention where there is no clear winner, can a candidate who has not been mentioned or dropped out become the candidate?
Does anyone know how the process work?

Not a very tightly argued piece -- Goodman's attempt to link Kerry's support of Obama to the Barrett report is very weak, and it's not the only possible explanation, nor even the most likely.

For example, it's much more reasonable to pin the Obama endorsement on Kerry's own vanity.

The Clintons have ignored him, and JF'nK's pride is wounded. And they don't need his support anyway, so there's no personal gain for him there. But by backing Obama, he gets a chance to portray himself as relevant -- a kingmaker.

So we should support Hillary over Obama? Sounds like a Risky Scheme to me. I’d prefer to defeat Satan in the primary and take on Osama in the general election.

Brilliant. I know the crimes are there. I’ll believe it when I see it though...

The RATS do not care what the Clintons have done or will do. The only thing the GOP can do with whatever material they have access to is hang it all out and let the voters call for legal action. The MO of the Clintons is to charge ahead of the law and get in a position to fend it off as they accumulate the power to override and circumvent it. The democrats are quite willing to circumvent the third term limit on the presidency by running the Mr. again with Hillary fronting for him. If there is anything that can sink the Clintons it should be put out now. The Republicans have waited eight years to take them to court and the waiting has diluted any credence to evidence of illegality connected to them. The MSM will help obstruct and present it all as just squabbling and dirty politics.

If only it were so. I can’t help, though, remembering that while the iron was hot, our namby-pamby inbred politicos failed to strike, and oust a rapist from office.

Why bother taking Hillary out of contention for the Presidency, at the risk of her outing something about ME that would interfere with my full-salary Congressional retirement?

I will be the first to stand and applaud, however, if one of them has the guts to do it.

I don’t trust any of these aces in the hole. We’ve been burned by them too many times in the Bush administration. Big promises of a big hidden secret about to be revealed and then... fizzle, fizzle, nothing there.

I’d rather fight the battle that’s already there, out in the open, against socialism and treason. All the rats are plenty guilty of those two crimes without us needing any aces in the hole to boost our spirits.

We don’t need to boost our spirits. We just need to fight better.

The Republicans are banking on Mrs. Clinton, the scenario goes, to win the Democratic nomination so they can bake her in Mr. Barrett's oven in the election campaign.

Frankly, I think this is giving the Congressional GOP far too much credit for devious, tactical thinking. (Sorry to say)

All that crap will never be effective because it depends on MSM for effective dissemination and that won't happen. It doesn't help that Republicans are just as ardent to cover up Democrat and Liberal crime and misdeeds as are Democrats. And for Democrat voters every bit of it merely serves as resume enhancement for the Clintons.

If the Republican nominee is Giuliani, all of his social problems will be trumpeted 100% of the time from nomination until election by MSM and, for Republicans, such things are NOT resume enhancement.

“It’s that very record which likely prompted Sen. John Kerry’s sudden endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama just two days after Mrs. Clinton’s first primary win, followed by two more supportive votes from ranking congressional Democrats.”

I couldn’t get past this line. The only reason Kerry endorsed Obama is because he thinks Obama is gonna win. That’s it. That’s all. Not because he suddenly grew a conscience. Not because he has the keys to Al Capone’s secret Clinton Vault of Shame. Same with Leahy - does anyone think this man, INFAMOUS for his leaking national security secrets to anyone who will listen - suddenly has America’s best interests at heart? These are people who know they will be on the out in a new Clinton administration, and are doing everything in their power to prevent that.

If they had any concerns about Clinton criminal involvement they picked a strange time to suddenly act on it. Right in the midst of a political election! This was opportunism, pure and simple.

Attempting to assign even vaguely admirable qualities to that dirtbag John Kerry does not pass muster.
