Who'll tell Hillary to give up?
The Austrailian ^ | March 03, 2008 | Sarah Baxter

IT is the burning question of the moment: who has the courage to tell Hillary Clinton it's time to quit? Friends of the couple say the chances are it will be her husband, and that he will tell her if she loses Texas or Ohio tomorrow. He has made it clear she cannot soldier on without a double victory.

However, if she wins narrowly in both states but lags significantly in the number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination, then who will tell Bill Clinton to tell Hillary the game is up?

It may be Vernon Jordan, the African-American powerbroker who is so loyal to the Clintons he arranged a job for Monica Lewinsky when she was no longer welcome at the White House.

The Clintons could fight on if Hillary wins the popular vote in Texas but ends up with fewer delegates under the state's peculiar system, which combines a primary election with caucuses.

Bill Clinton's former White House chief of staff, Leon Panetta, said: "There comes a point where you can drag this thing on in a way that doesn't really give you the votes you need and leaves a bad taste in the mouth."

He regards the Clintons as professionals who will know if the race is over. "In the end, the former president and Hillary are going to understand what needs to be done. They get it."

I think the Senate will offer Hillary whatever she wants, if she steps aside.

So say ‘hello’ to Senate Majority Leader Hillary.

Vernon Jordan? You mean the "Vernon Jordan" who was (in an interview) "Just talkin' p@ssy with Bill" on the golf course?

Somehow I think it would go over like a you-know-what in a punchbowl....

Even though I/we/me still WANT HER to be the Demonrat nominee, I volunteer to let her know that Her Thighness has no clothes.

Yeah, what kind of “job” did Monica have at the White House to qualify her for her next “job?”

I’d love to do it. And if she threw a lamp at me, I’d throw one back at her.

Panetta should know more than anyone else the absolute lust that Hillary Clinton has for becoming President. She is not going to give up after March 4th no matter what, unless every remaining super Delegates announce that he is for Obama right after next Tuesday.

I’m reminded of the scene in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”, when they kept sending lackeys into the cave to try to retrieve the Holy Grail and their heads came rolling back out. ;)

Gore is the only one who can make Hillary accept the truth.
Nobody on this planet knows how sometimes inevitablility doesn’t work out (thankfully). He has been awfully quiet in this race so he can come in and do this intervention.

When he does this I’m sure someone, somewhere will give him some kind of award for it.

"Barack Obama's charisma reminds me of Bill and makes me feel young again."

The Democrats are again showing how their emotions prevent them from acting like grownups. Anyone who would vote for President for this reason deserves the rotten leadership they will get; unfortunately the rest of us don't.

As for Hillary dropping out -- there is no way either candidate will clinch the delegate count before the convention. The superdelegates will decide, the only reason we are reading articles like this is that the news media are trying to stampede the Democratic delegates (who are probably stupid enough to be stampeded, resulting in the nomination of Obama who is MUCH less electable than Clinton). -- Spouse of heartwood (aka VeritatisSplendor)

I want Hillary to stay in the campaign till the democRat convention, and then to bring legal challenges to Hussein Obama’s nomination. And then to run 3rd party.

The “debate” free prime time infomercials and in-the-news campaign drama end when Hillary drops out so I think they will keep telling her that she still has a chance.
