Anyone know the background of this guy, if he was a real Ranger? Just curious as we've been burned before from fake Rangers and the like.

I don't know if he was a real Ranger.

He is a real Democrat, though.

>>”Our country and our armed services cannot afford another leader like President Bush who would keep our overstretched military in Iraq for 100 years while ignoring the other threats our country faces both at home and around the world.”<<

Who said anything about ignoring other threats.

But when you invade a country and wipe out the government and infrastructure it takes a while to give the people a real chance. It could go much faster if they would get their act together like Japan and West Germany did or if they decide they don’t want our help.

The fact that the “media” didn’t exploit Martinez’s rank by mentioning it in the article tells me about all I need to know about Martinez. I wonder if the “media” would do a story like this about an Iraq and Afghanistan combat veteran who supports McCain. I won’t hold my breath.

I hate the way the Democrats do this, trot out a veteran and act as if he speaks for all veterans. It is a cheap, tasteless trick.

I’m not sure if this guy got the memo. Most of what the Democrat candidates says on their campaign trail doesn’t reflect what they’re saying else where.

After Obama was critsized for wanting to pull the troops out of Iraq only to return if Al Qaeda shows up (Which they’re already there) Obama said he really meant that he would pull them out sometime down the road.

I love it though. A lot of crap they spew comes backs and bites them in the arse.... the same as when Hillary spent years dissing the red states, the red necks, the nascar people.... Today she needs their votes bad and it LOOKS to me like people remember all that elitist talk she’s been spewing in the past.

She doesn’t seem so darned smart now.

Martinez and not in the bag for McVain..... after the Illegal-Hispanic-invasion-amnesty-travesty?

Hope this is a lesson to Captain Queeg.

The ONLY people loyal are the conservatives.

We don’t throw our own under the train.

Come back to the camp and we would have your back. Keep being a RINO-LIB and the snakes you lay with will bite you in the A$$.

Well I guess this is as good a place as any to introduce the REAL VETS, not the CUT & RUN vets, to my latest effort to get our troops a QUALIFIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

If you agree, please sign up for the Rollcall at the site.

I don’t think one disgruntled grunt matters. Most on the ground want to win as they did in Vietnam, Korea, and before. Losing is not a luxury for real soldiers or the last Super Power in the world. We should take a lesson from our previous retreats and how they came home to roost in the horror of 9-11. Demonstrating weakness makes one a target more than anything else.

That said, things have turned the corner in Iraq and it is not time to retreat in the face of success no matter who is calling for it. Even the Democrats have muted their rhetoric in the face of the success of the surge. McCain should be given credit for not retreating on Iraq when it would’ve been easy for him to do so though he’d have been sacrificing any chance at the Presidency had he flinched in such a way.

If there is one singular reason why McCain should be President above all others is that he is committed to winning in Iraq and that he understands and articulates the nature of the enemy. Token soldiers wallowing in the politics of cowardice should be seen for what they are. They are sell outs to the enemy and that enemy isn’t only those who prostrate themselves before Allah in the name of Jihad but also those leaders in this nation who would shackle the hands of Uncle Sam and force him down in the international square in a submissive posture before our enemies while they gather around to stone and spit on him.

Isn’t it odd that just about every anti-Bush and anti-Iraq service member gets tons of press, but the vast majority who aren’t get zero coverage. (I’m pretty sure about that “vast majority” part from friends who have been there.)

Nope, no libscum or MSM bias out there, though.

"He says the economy is strong but how can he not see that families like mine are struggling to pay for out-of-control health care costs, home heating bills, gasoline and college tuition," Martinez said.

Not sure what Vet benefits are like today but he should be accessing benefits for tuition and healthcare and I can't imagine that heating bills would amount to much in San Antonio.

what is wrong with the entire gop

when it fails, wholesale, to provide the appropriate response to anyone who says “the war (singular) in iraq will end” somehow if we american’s just go home

the very idea is full of ignorance

if we american’s leave iraq

will wealthy fundamentalist saudis quit funding and arming sunni militias in iraq, who make 1/3 of the war against the iraqi people and elected government???? no, they will imagine they have greater opportunities, and seek to exploit them

will the iranian mullahs quit funding and arming shia militias in iraq, who make 1/3 of the war against the iraq people and elected government???? no, they will imagine they have greater opportunities, and seek to exploit them

will al queda end their 1/3 of the war against the iraq people and elected government???? no, they will imagine they have greater opportunities, and seek to exploit them

so, if we leave iraq just what aspect of the war against iraq’s civilians and government will end??? none of it, it will just get worse

why can’t the entire gop just expose the shear idiocy of the idea that the war in iraq will disappear if we do

“Our country and our armed services cannot afford another leader like President Bush who would keep our overstretched military in Iraq for 100 years while ignoring the other threats our country faces both at home and around the world.”

what actual ‘journalist’ did/will dare ask this liberal in uniform just what other threats “around the world” he is actually concerned with???

have you ever heard a liberal say we have any threats, around the world, other than our own military????????

There are many IRAK veterans and not all of the same kind!
This one seems to be a “good” one
