Heres Barack Obama on June 5, 2007, at Hampton University, praising Rev. Jeremiah Wright in such an effusive way that its obvious they were personally very close. It strains credulity (snap! was that my credulity breaking?) to maintain that Obama has only recently become aware of Wrights more inflammatory statements.
Yes I think she is of like mind. One time I heard her people asked why she put all that money for a school in Africa when we had poor here. Their response was; "You have no idea how much money she had put to help people in this country she just doesn't talk about it." Funny how they talked and talked and talked about what she was doing for the children in Africa.
I hadn't realized she had left the church until I heard Rush say so this morning. But like you I am sure the only reason was what it would do to her Oprah image if found out.
no kidding and Mccain has the same PC advisors around him Bush did.....Rove, Gillespie, Mehlman....all lack the balls to go hardball on a black guy
“I think it is perfectly fine (and expected) for the radical black churches to be anti-American”.
This sort of goes to the heart of what I’m thinking. Your statement above is correct, and I don’t think just for radical black churches. Part and parcel of the past 25 years of being black is the culture of victimhood, some of it justifiable, some not.
But whatever, there is no way for a black person to go to a black church and not hear it in some form. It’s like trying to protect your kids from the smut on TV. It’s every where and the only thing to do is get rid of the tube.
I’m just saying that, as a black man, Obama couldn’t help but be exposed to that somewhere along the line, and going elsewhere would be futile, if he wanted to stay in a black church.
Some enterprising reporter should ask Oprah bin Obamamama some pointed questions about her brief tenure at the church and why she was there in the first place, and see what she says......but there's not many enterprising reporters left, they're all drive-bys now. Just hit and run.......and by all means, don't follow up because it's too much work.
(........unless it's a Republican, of course).
So, Oprah gets a pass, and even some praise for leaving. But, then, she supports Barack who was a church member for 20 years, so the hypocracy is apparent.
Man, I'd like to grill her on that particular subject.
