U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy remained in hospital in Boston on Sunday as doctors tried to determine what caused the patriarch of America's most prominent political dynasty to suffer a seizure on Saturday.

After tests on Saturday, Kennedy's doctor said he was not in any immediate danger and had not suffered a stroke but that more tests were needed. There was no word on Kennedy's condition on Sunday morning...

This would be a good time for Teddy to announce his retirement, but somehow, the notion might not occur to him.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan, another well-known (and infinitely smarter) Democrat Senator had the wisdom to step down from his position as US Senator from New York, and pass the torch to a younger person, while still in possession of most of his facilities.

Of course, it is WAY past that point for Teddy, but he can still make up some kind of amends for his past sins by repenting now, and throwing himself upon the mercy of the Lord and fellow mankind.

Will this act of contrition on Teddy’s part get him into heaven? Probably not, but it may shorten his time in purgatory.

What could he do if he retires? Hire himself out to NASA as a weather balloon?

Seizures usually happen because of brain damage. Could have been a stroke and then a seizure?

Well, the Moderator will probably shut this one down too, but until he does, congratulations to all of you for avoiding the phony ‘best wishes’ bs that generally accompany these situations. Sorry, Ted, you are, and have been for decades, the enemy. You have actively worked to undermine all that is good in this country, you are the ACLU personified and I have no ‘best wishes for your recovery’.

Unfortunately, that is true.

“Seizures usually happen because of brain damage. Could have been a stroke and then a seizure?”

I agree with you.

Like Flight 800, they are going to keep it a secret as long a possible.

Another question I have is why did Caroline (sp? I do not keep up with this crazy family to know how to spell their names…I have better things to do) dash to the side of her uncle if were just a seizure?

Calm down and listen to what Freepers have to comment.

Don’t be rude.

I am sorry I missed those posts by MsLady.

Not being rude, just pointing out that Ted Kennedy posts have a habit of being pulled post haste because OTHER (I don’t post hate responses, thankyouverymuch) FReepers have not been able to control their glee over the Senator’s health problems.

does anyone have info about the Barnstable air crash?

i have some second hand info: my friend was at Oshcosh and met the brother of the killed pilot. apparently Ted was drunk and refused to sit down and fasten his belt for landing. the pilot’s brother says Ted stumbled into the pilot on final, causing the mishap.

i’ve tried to search FAA for an incident report, without success.

Me neither. NO apology from me on this one.

I cannot bring myself to express sympathy with this POS in any way.

Prevention

There is no specific way to prevent seizures. Use helmets when appropriate to prevent head injury. This will lessen the likelihood of a brain injury and subsequent seizures. Avoid recreational drugs. People with epilepsy should take medication as directed and avoid excessive amounts of alcohol.

I certainly appreciate what you are saying. But my country is in danger because of him and others like him.

He is a traitor. Traitors used to be shot or hung. I make no exceptions.

But never the less, I respect your conviction but not to be disrespectful of MsLady because she does not agree with you.

Only Republican politicians have stroke and are unable to continue to perform the duties of their office. Democrats have “siezures” and are quite capable of holding onto their office, and cast their SUPER-DELEGATE vote!
