Hopes this includes the post from the spouse of Alaska state government manager:
He stated that state employees are strongly encouraged to open outside web-hosted email accounts for personal matters.
Clearly, the messages in the account were personal, and not an attempt to circumvent disclosure laws, as ABC stated today.

Whether she has an account or not is irrelevant. There are proper procedures for complaints, and authorizing a “fishing expedition” and illegal hacking is not part of it.
It usually involves a written letter or filling out a form with said complaint.
The real story is: Obama campaign activist illegally hacked VP candidate’s email system.

Yo, RATS, make up your mind.
First you criticize John McCain because he DOESN'T use e-mail and then you bash Sarah Palin because she DOES.
There's just no pleasing you Communist Organizers.

I have mentioned this several times but I think this part is important.
Very recently an anonymous poster on /b/ claimed to have hacked Sarah Palins Yahoo e-mail account. IMHO, this was an attempt to scapegoat the /b/ (4Chan) hackers. The admission had no signs of anon, way to coherent, none of the jargon. It was a newf//g. The 4Chaners called them out immediately as a newf//g (what we would call a troll.)
Someone went out of their way to try to frame these guys as being part. It didn't fit their style. See what they do with Project Chanology w/ the Scientology and Paultards.. this hack was out of their scope. Too simple, no creativeness.
IMHO, there is something big behind this..

Answering questions posed by a password recovery function is too mundane to even be considered a hack.

Anon also aren’t data miners, they see hacking as performance art. They deface sites, not post information from sites. I hate to defend hackers, but this isn’t 4Chan’s methods. This is way beneath them.

I think you are right. That explains why “white hat” immediately changed the email account a second time and bragged about it online.
One of the first accounts I read about this linked 4Chan/Anonymous/Scientology. It was so whacked I didn’t come back to the story until it was sorted out this afternoon.
