Brief comment from Jim to the mods, please say some prayers for his brother:

My brother Don has had a heart attack and is in intensive care. His son-in-law, Dan, called a couple hours ago saying that Don went to the doctor today complaining of stomach pain and after some scans they said he had an abcess on his intestine and they had to do surgery tonight. They told us not to come down there because we couldn’t see him. Now they’ve called and said his heart stopped during the surgery. They got it started again but he’s in trouble.

Jim, I just stumbled on this news about your brother. I had not heard that he passed away. I knew that he was gravely ill. This is very hard for you and for Don's family. May you find comfort in the good memories that you shared with Don during your lives together. May God strengthen you as you lean on Him to get you through this time of trial. May you be blessed.

Love and hugs, Nan

I too lost my brother a few years ago and though I'm several years your junior the pain of the loss is the same and I share in yours.
I've always taken comfort from Ecc. 3 on the occasion of deaths...
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

We are all born and we will all, eventually, die. I hope your brother's life was happy and full. I pray that he rests in peace and that you and your family may somehow find solace for your hearts for your loss.

My thoughts and Prayers for you and Your Family.
May Don rest in Gods’ Home
His thoughts and Words will keep you from being alone
May the Sun of Summer be upon his shoulder
The Breeze of Fall upon his face
The Spring rains awaken his sleep
and the Winter snows bring him laughter once again.
He now rest in Gods’ Grace
Your talks and time together will be always a link
You can never be without him as long as you believe. Amen
