Obama Tells Congressional GOP To Turn Off Rush Limbaugh Show: Will Media Notice?

The Drudge Report blared the New York Post report by Charles Hurt that President Obama told the Republicans in Congress that they should go along and get along, and stop listening to Rush Limbaugh: "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done."

Obama is clearly worried that Rush Limbaugh is going to be the GOP Speaker of the House, so to speak. Over at Radio Equalizer, talk-radio guru Brian Maloney is amused:

Beyond the absurdity of a Democrat barking orders at his political opposition, he's especially foolish to air his fear of Limbaugh and talk radio in a public setting. Now, what was long suspected by conservatives has been verified by the man himself.

The timing was no coincidence: after a rocky first week in office, the Obamists are also faced with a resurgent Fox News Channel, where ratings have been climbing since the moment he took office.

In particular, Hannity's Limbaugh interview, which took place in the latter's Florida studios, scored fantastic audience figures for the former's network. In overall viewers, Thursday's Hannity nearly trebled his MSNBC competition and almost doubled CNN's Larry King.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction-like how the Democrats constantly play in Rush’s hands.
By mentioning Limbaugh they have probably guaranteed him another million listeners.

When a liberal politician criticizes a private citizen for his views, there is an automatic backlash.

Even Clinton controlled his anger enough to publicly vent on Rush on only one occasion.

Maybe this is Obama’s opening salvo to bring back the Censorship Doctrine.

I thought he looked great! The shirt he had on was so big it was hard to tell how large he is. He can loose weight pretty easily, so he will probably bring his weight back down soon,

I’m suprised Barry didn’t tell them to stop listening to Ann Coulter. I guess the thing we need to do is to keep listening to Rush, Hannity, Mark Levin, etc. Keep Palin in the news. It gets Barry crazy!

How stupid is this administration to sign an order to close Gitmo but HAVE NO WHERE TO PUT THE PRISONERS. Any State that approves them is going to have their citizens up in arms and knows they will face being booted out in reelection.

But I agree with one poster I read here. Put them in the worst facility in the country. We won’t have a problem with them for very long.

I think we should turn them over to Sheriff Joe Arpaio at the Maricopa County Jail.

The Islamofascists might enjoy sunny Arizona and come to like their groovy new wardrobes:

The guy earns $50 million a year to stir up trouble on the radio. I have no problem with stirring up trouble. I do, however, question the bona fides of a guy earning that kind of money for stirring up trouble. In any event, he’s hardly a sterling example of traditional American family values, is he!

And he smokes cigars!!!! Oh, Noes!!!

You are so right. O has never had to actually accomplish anything before. His entire resume is as an activist and running for office, and he could hire people to run his campaign. Unfortunately for O and the country, the kind of folks that can run a campaign are not the kind to be running a country, too much baggage. I don’t think he has figured that out yet.

I have never understood your attitude, as long as the money is made legally. I have no problem with Rush, or anybody else rock star, movie star, athlete, making whatever the market will pay them. If I could have figured a way to make that kind of money I'd be happy, I'd be happy for you if you had figured a way.

“The guy earns $50 million a year to stir up trouble on the radio.”

Are you effing kidding me? Speaking out against socialism is stirring up trouble? I guess we are not allowed to publicly oppose the socialist agenda? We should just sit quietly and let our country go down the tubes, is that it?

Its not fair! Rush is already a Gazillionaire. This will make him a Multi-Gazillionaire. I'm sure his response will be: “That's spelled L-I-M-B-A-U-G-H.” The least The One could do is pick on some lesser known dweeb.

"Find a way to beat up on Republicans."

Find a way? You're kidding, right? They do a fine job of giving reason after reason. Have you heard or read any of the maverick McCain's statements lately? The republicans are not the Republicans I once knew. Today's republicans aren't that much different than the demonrats.

I vote for them only because they are the sole viable alternative, but there is no reason to re-join the party, send donations or volunteer. Like Reagan used to say about the Demonrat party: he didn't leave the party, the party left him. It's the same for today's republican party. I don't identify with who or what they are and after according to election results, others feel the same way.

They need to find a way to encourage people to come back to the party. Their becoming just like demonrats strategy isn't working for them.

According to Major Garett, Obama Says His View on Taxes Prevailed Because 'I Won' , Obama had this to say:

.........."Obama explained that lawmakers were closer together than the public realized on the stimulus package but warned of pitfalls if Congress and the White House don't work together. Again, according to participants in the meeting, Obama said this about rising above typical partisan differences: "We're all political animals, we've all got political bases," the president is reported to have said. "If we don't get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can't let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That's how things don't get done in this town.""................

I hope Rush is taking care of himself.

It's been an extremely tough two years' campaign, since the 2006 debacle. We could all see the RiNO's moving early with early money on the nomination, and that their candidacies, if they got the nomination, would produce pretty much the same results the 2006 congressional campaign did, since RiNO's had already proven incapable, completely incapable, of cleaning up the weaknesses and failings that Rahm Emanuel was feasting on.

I'm sure Rush could see it coming and probably felt like he couldn't say much as long as the GOP still had a snowball's chance. If he looks sick, it's probably from holding it all in for two long, dismal years -- maybe longer.

It sure wouldn't hurt if he had a good woman to come home to, and a loyal dog.

What the hell are you talking about? Rush doesn’t earn $50 million to “stir up trouble”. Do you even understand the concept of making money in a radio market? He makes $50 million a year because lots of people want to hear what he has to say and lots of businesses want to advertise to the people listening.

Your logic of him making $50 million to ‘stir up trouble’ sounds awful niave in it’s viewpoint.

If the jackass Obama keeps using the arrogant excuse, "I won," the American people will soon have their answer to that.

American people to Obama: "You won? We can fix that mistake."

What about Alcatraz reopening? They would be on an island, but still on US territory and wouldn’t be in with other prison populations.

* * * * * * * * * * * ** *

that is so true.

there are probably a lot of people who will now think, “Hey, I’ve heard of this Rush guy...if he is so important that the POTUS is mentioning him, maybe i should give him a listen.”
