Sen. Ben Nelson to announce support for health-care bill
The Washington Post ^ | December 19, 2009 | Shailagh Murray

Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.), the final Democratic holdout on health care, was prepared to announce to his caucus Saturday morning that he would support the Senate reform bill, clearing the way for final passage by Christmas.

"We're there," said Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), as he headed into a special meeting to announce the deal.

Democratic leaders spent days trying to hammer out a deal with Nelson, and worked late Friday night with Nelson on abortion coverage language that had proved the major stumbling block. But Nelson also secured other favors for his home state.

Asked if he was prepared to support the bill, Nelson said, "Yeah."

Biggest announcement since “peace in our time”. God, the Democrats and their friends in the news media make me sick.

You Dunce. You might just have a little concern for just where “there” is. Hope it isn’t a shock.

I’d like to vote out any Republican who voted for any of the bailouts, or who introduced earmarks for his or her district. That would be a good place to start. I hope there is a good selection of freshmen Republicans to choose from on the ballot in 2010.

Yes. There are a few to keep: Bachman, DeMint, Cornyn, et al.

Cornyn is a freakin' RINO too! RINO Republican John Cornyn-TX, was elected to his first term in November 2002. According to his website biography, his most embarrassing moment came “when I muffed the opening pitch at a Round Rock Express baseball game.” Well how about THIS ONE: on April 14th, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), head of the Senate Republican campaign effort, "issued his firm support of Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) today in a letter affirming the senator's conservative credentials," according to The Hotline. Said Cornyn: " I believe that Senator Specter is our best bet to keep this Senate seat in the GOP column." Two weeks later, on April 28th, super-RINO Arlen Specter changed sides and became a Democrat. On, May 12th, John Cornyn voiced his support for RINO Governor Charlie Crist for a Senate seat over conservative candidate Marco Rubio.

The Zero’s reign has been detrimental enough, but I think now it will get even worse... and even faster. With the 60 liberal scum voting in lock step against the overwhelming majority of their constituents, Zero and his ballerina now know two things: 1) These Demonrat scum are willing to forego their own political careers to support the Empry Suit socialist, and 2) given that no one definitively knows what’s in the bill, they will take the blame when it destroys the finest healthcare system in the world. This is only the beginning... next comes mass numbers of new enrollees to the program, in the form of immigration reform. Wonder if the CBO has considered this in their bogus calsulations...

If GOP takes back Congress, doubtful, and repeals the final bill, doubtful, then Obama will veto the repeal and Congress wont override the veto, not doubtful.

Every remotely vulnerable Senator with a (D) after his/her name is going down hard on election day, whether it's 2010 or 2012. WE WILL NOT FORGET.
