Please pray on this day, and every day, for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world in defense of our liberty, and for the families awaiting their safe return.
Forgot about the gubmint thang.
THAT’S why I couldn’t find a diet-pepsi, my drink of choice, at the track. The concession stands at LVMS were extremely plentiful and efficient. I don’t think I saw a line more than 4 deep. I did hear horror stories afterward at the Hotel from a woman who missed her flight back to Austin ‘cause she had to wait in line 3 hours to turn in her head phone gear.
It’s your turn to go to the next race and take photos. I’m mentioning “Sonoma” to Mrs. Happydog but no bites....looks like TMS in the fall might be the next possible event.
Flock lived in Atlanta for awhile.
Just grabbing my place in line.
Golden Horseshoe drew 35th out of 35 locked-in drivers for qualifying order. The best possible slot.
quals

Had to record Q and watched it later. It was mentioned it might have been too cold for the later drivers. J.J. thought he had run a good lap but Jr. done flew!
Now Sunday will be a case of the “ifs”. If he doesn’t blow a tire, a pit stall, a pit stop, a pit violation & doesn’t hit the wall, well, I’d say he has a chance. If.
Thought this part was funny
HOW IMPORTANT IS IT HERE AT ATLANTA TO HAVE THAT NUMBER ONE PIT STALL? Well, hopefully Lance (McGrew, crew chief) will pick it. He has been known to pick some pretty strange pit stalls. (LAUGHS) We have a lot of fun with that. Jimmy Elledge picks right beside us every week and I thought it was because we are friends, but I think it is actually because I have the easiest pit board sign to see. I know what Jimmy is going to do this weekend if we pick number one, he is going to have to pit down there in turn one somewhere. The pit stalls are really tight and I remember a lot of times having trouble getting in and out of your stall here so hopefully we do pick a good stall that gives us a lot of room and gives us an added advantage because it does become very challenging to get in and out of your stall at this race track. It is such a big race track and rarely do we really get a whole lot of cars a lap down. We have enough cautions to really keep a lot of the field on the lead lap so pit road is pretty busy when the cautions come out. So hopefully we get a good stall that gives us a little bit more breathing room.
I was glad to see it. The big threats were Mark Martin, Kyle Busch and JJ. I thought especially JJ would have a shot, but they looked uncharacteristically bad, even with the best qualifying draw.
Of course, the real test will be late in the race tomorrow. If they can communicate well, they will have a shot.
