Republican Poll of Iowa Voters Has Mike Huckabee Leading Romney, Palin
Washington, DC -- With pro-life advocates longing for 2012 thanks to the extensive pro-abortion record of President Barack Obama, it's never too early to think about the next election. A survey of caucus voters in Iowa, the state that will kick off the battle for the Republican nomination, Mike Huckabee has the lead.

I keep seeing people posting this FR poll. How long did it last... 1 day? 150 doesn’t meet a good cross section of Freepers. I know it sure didn’t allow me to vote for DeMint, and I bet it was taken before her glowing endorsement of McCain too.
Sad...so many follow this POS. He will destroy all of the right to life movements. What a con. Better Obama for four more yrs than Huckster.
This religious fanatic is for DeMint - the exemplar of balanced, movement conservatism - and is definitely NOT for libertarians!
Yes, I should be more specific - I’m referring to seeing combat. Reagan didn’t, but McCain did.
Mainly, my point is that a military man does not always and at all times get my vote, just because he’s a military man. If I see a former military man who is soft on some issues (typically SoCon issues) running in a GOP primary against a civilian who’s never worn a uniform since he got out of the Boy Scouts, but who is solid on the issues straight down the line, I’ll vote for the civvie every time.
I don’t automatically assume that service in the military confers tremendous leadership abilities upon someone, nor does it give them - in my view at least - a special moral qualification to hold public office. I judge the candidates on their personal ideology, their personal morality, and their personal characteristics.
This is not, of course, to say that I am AGAINST former military men running for office. In fact, we have a lot of solid guys running for Congress, all across the country. I just don’t factor it in as a “deciding issue” when making a decision as to who to vote for.
Say it ain’t so...
Jeb Hensarling endorsed Dede Scozzafava in NY-23. For me, that is disqualifying (much like support of TARP).
As for Huckabee, Romney, et al in 2012...looks like it’s going to be second verse, same as the first.
They won’t. Huck is their dream... a RINO all wrapped up in a Christian (socialist) label.
I said this earlier, until the primary process changes, these dolts in Iowa and New Hampshire, along with democrats and Independents are going to pick our candidate. Then the GOP elites will decide which RINO gets the nod.
True.
We are ranked 48th in education and he turned down $750 million in education funding...with our school shutting down..for one reason and one reason only. He wanted to use that in his campaign. The anti govt rhetoric is working in Texas as it always does...but should not have been used at the expense of our schools for the sake of his campaign.
I have no problem with DeMint.
Uh, well, you know he's socially conservative, right? Which must mean he wants to raise your taxes to pay for programs to prevent children from getting Alzheimer's, while busting down your door to confiscate your nudie book stash for the good of the state.
NO, to Mike Huckabee! Not NO, but HELL NO!
